Video: Iceland in Winter

This video was shot as part of a travel photography workshop that was conducted in Iceland in the winter. As you would expect, it features some of the amazing landscapes that the country has become so well known for. When you have places like this to shoot, it's hard to take a bad photo, and the video is simply spectacular too.

Video: Iceland - Tears of Heaven

After posting a great video from Iceland yesterday, I would typically wait a bit before sharing another clip from the same country. But this one is just too good to hold back, as it once again provides stunning views of a country that is brimming over with opportunities for adventure. Shot over the course of 26 days, the video takes us across Iceland from north to south, sharing some hidden landscapes along the way. Less than four minutes in length, the clip does its job however, convincing viewers that this is a must-see place.

Video: Exploring Iceland by Kayak

The Serraslses Brothers – Aniol and Gerd – are two of the top expedition kayakers in the world. The two men have been paddling together for years, and have traveled all over the globe to visit remote places in their boats. In this video, we join them on a journey across Iceland, where we get some views of that spectacular country that we've never seen before. This is an epic adventure that takes us past towering glaciers, down rushing rivers, and over some serious waterfalls, all with the amazing scenery that Iceland is known for serving as a backdrop.

Video: On the Edge of Light in Iceland

This beautiful video takes us to Iceland, but rather than showing us what the landscapes look like there during the day – something we've seen a thousand times – it gives us a glimpse of them after dark. Illuminated by the moon, the stars, and the Northern Lights, those landscapes take on a different feel altogether. It is quite a sight to be behold.

Video: Hello, Iceland - A Solo Journey Through One of the Most Beautiful Countries on Earth

In the past, we've shared quite a few videos from Iceland here on The Adventure Blog, but this one ranks among the best. It was shot in that country this past May, as traveler/filmmaker Jesse Yang made a solo journey along the Ring Road and into the interior of the place. The landscapes and images captured along the way are nothing short of spectacular, reminding us of why Iceland is such a special place. Check it out below.

Video: Under an Arctic Sky - Surfing Iceland in Winter

When you think of great surf spots, Iceland is not a place that typically comes to mind. But, when a team of adventurers – led by photographer Chris Burkard and filmmaker Ben Weiland – traveled to that beautiful and wild country, they discovered that there was indeed some terrific waves to ride along the north coast. This was especially true when one of the most brutal storms of the past 25 years made landfall there, creating a surreal environment for an arctic adventure. As you'll see in this video, they got everything they were looking for, and more.

Video: The Northern Lights as Viewed From a Drone

What do you get when you fly a drone into the Northern Lights? Why this spectacular video of course. Shot on the Reykjanes Peninsula in Iceland, where the stunning landscapes found there are illuminated by the otherworldly light given off by the aurora borealis. This is a fitting way to wrap up another busy week, and a two-minute video that everyone should see. Enjoy!

Video: Remote Iceland as Seen by a Drone

Take a drone's eye view of remote Iceland in this video, which gives us stunning views of the landscapes that are found there. You'll catch a glimpse of everything from rugged coastlines, snowcapped peaks, and lush forests, with just about everything in between. You'll discover a place that is epic in scale and is calling out to be explored. After watching the 2+ minute clip you'll begin to understand why Iceland holds such an allure with travelers.

Video: Blue Whales Off Iceland

This short, but sweet, video takes us off the coast of Iceland where we get the opportunity to spot one of the rarest and most elusive animals on the planet – the blue whale. At almost 30 meters (98 feet) in length, and weighing over 150 tons, this is the largest creature ever known to inhabit the Earth. Seeing one is a rare treat indeed, but we get to watch one thanks to this clip. Enjoy!

Video: Running Downhill in Iceland

One of the most exhilarating experiences for trail runners is topping out on a summit or ridge, and turning down hill at long last. It is then that they can let go, and just allow their legs to carry them down the trail as quickly as possible. In this video, we travel to Iceland, where British runners Ricky Lightfoot and Tom Owens go in search of great downhill opportunities. As you might expect, they find them amongst the amazing landscapes there.

Video: Iceland's Northern Lights in Timelapse

Just when you thought Iceland's landscapes couldn't get any more beautiful, nature illuminates them with the Northern Lights, giving them an otherworldly look that simply must be seen to be believed. This video is only a little over a minute in length, but I think you'll like what you see. And if you're at all like me, you'll probably wish that there was more of this exceptional footage to be seen.

Iceland is a magical place. There is no getting around that. But we're reminded of just how beautiful and special that country is in this video, which takes us on a whirlwind tour of the Icelandic countryside. Sit back and enjoy this one. It is three minutes of pure beauty. And if you still haven't been to Iceland, perhaps now is the time to go.

Video: Climbing Iceland

We all know that Iceland is a beautiful place. We've seen that demonstrated many times in videos in the past. But in this short film, you'll get to see it from a completely different perspective. This time out, we travel to that spectacular country to join a team of talented climber as they take on some interesting routes located throughout Iceland. This is a beautiful look at an amazing place.

Video: 4 Hours - A Timelapse of Iceland's Winter Days

During the winter, Iceland receives just four hours of daylight each day, which makes it difficult to enjoy the snow covered landscapes to any degree. This video gives us a timelapse of one four hour stretch, showing us just how beautiful a single winter day can be there, even if the light is fleeting.

Video: Exploring Iceland by Drone

If there is a place that seems perfect for exploring via drone, it is probably Iceland. The country is filled with spectacular landscapes that include mountains, glaciers, lakes, rivers, and waterfalls. Those places are all captured nicely in this short video, which was shot using a DJI Phantom 3. As you'll see, the results are fantastic, giving us views of these wonderful places that we couldn't normally get on our own.
