St Kitts and Nevis

We spent several days poking around on Nevis using the public transportation system to get around. The island had been missed by the hurricane and it was "business as usual" everywhere we went.

Sailing on the leward side of Nevis

We visited the ruins of Fort Charles, the botanical gardens and a luxury boutique hotel built on an old sugar plantation.

We moved over to St Kitts for a few days where we did some snorkeling and checked out a couple of anchorages. The first anchorage was off the beach at the new Christophe Super yacht Marina complex.

Town Square Basseterre, St Kitts

We enjoyed a couple of nights at the anchorage in the small community of Fig Tree where fishermen at the community beach and boat launch were very friendly and helpful one even gave us a lift all the way to the city so we could clear out of St. Kitts but the customs office was closed so Al and I poked around the tourist district and downtown area where the cruise ships come in before hopping on a bus back to the boat. We returned to Basseterre the next day to complete the clearing out paperwork and look around a little more.
