Requirements:
Grade 12 certificate and a Security Management certificate. A diploma in Security Risk Management will be an advantage. Three (3) - five (5) years experience in security industry. Grade B PSIRA accredited certificate. A valid driver’s licence. SSA Security Management certificate and supervisory experience will be an advantage. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership skills and self-discipline. Decision making and report writing skills. Must be able to understand and execute regulations and policies. Must be computer literate. Knowledge of legislations such as Criminal Procedure Act, Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act, National Key Point Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Private Security Industry Regulation Act 56 of 2001, Public Finance Management Act 1 of 1999, MISS and MPSS. Willingness to travel and work long hours from time to time.

Duties:
Conduct after hours inspection in all Departmental premises. Conduct security awareness campaigns. Assess the performance of all security officers on quarterly basis. Identify gaps and determine the security initiatives to be instigated. Advise management regarding security risk. Ensure implementation of the recommended security measures for the State assets (Information and Personnel). Monitor the extent of adherence and compliance with security policies and procedures in the working environment. Compile security reports on a weekly and monthly basis for management consideration. Assist in monitoring the private security service provider(s) contracted to the Department of Water Affairs Head Office. Convene weekly meetings with the private security service provider. Liaise with relevant security agencies such as the State Security Agency, South African Police Services and any other security agencies for assistance when necessary. Conduct preliminary investigations for all reported security branches in all Departmental premises. Identify needs and determine security training. Ensure that all security equipment are operational. Draft and manage the monthly roster.
