Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or equivalent tertiary qualification and two (2) or three (3) years relevant working experience. Knowledge of the National Water Act, including related policies and regulations, coupled with development of policies. Good understanding of the work of water sector institutions and transformation in the water sector. Sound project management and research skills. Good facilitation, presentation and networking skills. Good knowledge of the principles of community development and participatory processes, and current debates on social and integrated development. Good written and verbal communication, computer literacy (MS Word, Ms Excel, MS Power Point, MS Outlook including internet). A valid code 08 driver’s licence (with more than 1 year driving experience) and is willing to travel and work outside office regularly, Proficient of at least three (3) official languages including Afrikaans.

Duties:
Provide guidance and support in relation to public participation, capacity building, gender mainstreaming and project implementation processes. Monitor and analyse stakeholder participation patterns, trends and provide advice thereof. Participate in appraisal of proposal and business plans for WMIs and other related initiatives. Participate in the development of policies, strategies, guidelines and tools to strengthen and sustain stakeholder participation. Study, interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies and protocols. Facilitate and ensure effective communication between the Department and all stakeholders. Plan, convene and facilitate meetings, lesson sharing workshops, stakeholder engagement activities and information sessions. Assist with the development and maintenance of the institutional capacity building quarterly bulletin. Actively attend and participate in various sector and socio-economic development forums. Assist in the generation of reports at stakeholder engagement sessions. Provide support in the IWRM projects and work. Assist in maintaining the institutional stakeholder’s database. Provide support service to the Directorate.
