The Tamimi family live at Nabi Saleh, in the Israeli militarily-occupied West Bank. ----
Ahed Tamimi ‘s 14 (or 15 I'm not sure) year old cousin was shot in the face at close range
by Israeli soldiers who then barged into Ahed's family property. She tried to stop them
and was filmed slapping an IDF soldier. She was arrested later in a night raid . All this
happened in mid December. Since then she has been held in detention. She has received a
rape threat ..threats of spending the rest of her life in an Israeli prison. Ahed will

We reproduce here a brief excerpt taken from the projected book The Idea: Anarchist
Communism Past, Present and Future written by Nick Heath. The text below describes how
Joseph Déjacque was the first person to use the word libertarian as a term interchangeable
with anarchist. Nick Heath also outlines how Déjacque was an early and significant
theorist of communist anarchism. ---- The first two chapters of The Idea are currently
available in full on Libcom.org. ---- Joseph Déjacque also participated in the 1848 events
as well as in the insurrection the following year. In often extremely violent and poetic
language, he attacked religion, property, the family and the State, and advocated action
by small groups who would hasten the end of the old hierarchical order.
The massacres of June 1848 brought him not only to a rejection of exploitation and
economic privilege, but equally to a rejection of all forms of authority. In exile in the
States he produced a journal in French, Le Libertaire, the first recorded use of the term
libertarian as an alternative to that of anarchist.

He continued the trailblazing work of the Humanitaire Group in his development of a kind
of anarchist communism -"the anarchist community" (communauté anarchique). He rejected the
strategy of Blanquism with its secret societies. Unlike Proudhon, he was able to reject
the idea of the family. Indeed, he was able to offer fraternal criticisms of Proudhon
himself, for his failure to carry his thoughts through to their ultimate conclusion.

He rejects Proudhon's mutualism as much as he rejects the Statism of the inheritors of the
Jacobin tradition. In reply to Proudhon's belief in the individual ownership of the
products of labour, Déjacque replied that "it is not the product of his or her labour that
the worker has a right to, but to the satisfaction of his or her needs, whatever may be
their nature"("l'Echange", article in Le Libertaire no 6, September 21, 1858, New York).
It is true that he owed a great debt to Fourier, - and this becomes apparent in his
pamphlet L'Humanisphere: utopie anarchique - but his Fourierism is one stripped of all its
reformist and authoritarian traits and he often makes criticisms of the prophet of social
harmony.

He may be correctly cited as one of the grandfathers of anarchist communism, his project
of collective class emancipation was linked to complete liberty for the individual, thus
being one of the first to re-define communism in opposition to the authoritarian concepts
of Cabet et al.

Importantly, in opposition to Proudhon, he was deeply concerned with linking the
emancipation of women to that of the working class. Castigating Proudhon for his rampant
misogyny he was to say:

"Is it possible, great publicist, that under your lion's skin so much of the ass may be
found?...Father Proudhon, shall I say it? When you talk of women you appear like a college
boy who talks very loudly and in a high key, at random and with impertinence, in order to
appear learned, as you do to your callow hearers, and who like you knows not the first
thing of the matter he is talking about ...Listen, Master Proudhon! Before you talk of
woman, study her; go to school."

"Stop calling yourself an anarchist, or be an anarchist clear through. Talk to us, if you
wish to, of the unknown and the known, of God who is evil, of property which is robbery;
but when you talk of man do not make him an autocratic divinity, for I will answer you
that man is evil. Attribute not to him a stock of intelligence which belongs to him only
by right of conquest, by the commerce of love, by usury on the capital that comes entirely
from woman and is the product of the soul within her. Dare not to attribute to him that
which he has derived from another or I will answer you in your own words: "Property is
robbery!" ...Raise your voice, on the contrary, against the exploitation of woman by man".
..."centre right anarchist, liberal and not libertarian you want free trade for cotton and
the candle, and you advocate protective systems of man against woman in the movement of
human passions; you shout against the barons of capital, and you want to rebuild the high
barony of male over female vassal; ... " (On The Human Being, Male and Female, 1857).

In the battle for Afrin, we see the universal dimensions of popular struggles against
fascism, dictatorship and death - and for democracy, freedom and justice. ---- As I write,
the Turkish army is engaged in an illegal cross-border invasion of the Syrian-Kurdish
region of Afrin. Claiming to fight "terrorists," the Turkish state - an EU candidate, ally
of the West and second-largest NATO army - launched an act of aggression against the same
people who earned the world's respect for defeating ISIS with their courageous sacrifices
and historic resistance. The military campaign includes pro-Erdogan Free Syrian Army (FSA)
troops and poses a threat to 800,000 civilians, half of whom are internally displaced
people who sought refuge in Afrin from regions like Idlib and Aleppo.

The targeting of Afrin exposes every letter in the ABC of imperialism. The attack could
not have been launched without the approval of Russia, which controls the airspace over
Afrin, as well as the consent of Iran and Assad. According to officials in Afrin, Russia
proposed to protect Afrin in return for handing over control to the Assad regime. But as
the offer was rejected, Russia gave green light to Turkey's invasion.

The United States, meanwhile, which conveniently used the Kurds as "reliable boots on the
ground" in Syria for the last years in the international anti-ISIS coalition, stays quiet
over their NATO ally's ambitions to sacrifice the heroes of the ISIS war, merely warning
Turkey to "avoid civilian casualties." European governments, especially Germany, have
their own stakes in the game, as mostly European weapons and tanks are used by the Turkish
army; weapons in the hands of fascists, which drive millions of people to leave their
homes and risk death to become refugees in Europe.

Seven years into the war, Syria is destroyed; ISIS came, killed and left; genocide and
massacres have been committed; the region's demography and ecology have changed; Assad
seems to be here to stay. The legitimate demands of all Syrians who took to the streets
and risked their lives to call for dignity, freedom and justice against the Assad regime
have been betrayed bitterly. Meanwhile, the powerful state actors in the region and beyond
seem to have come full circle, as more than half a million people died and around 6
million have been displaced. Activists speak of the Third World War taking place in this
region.

It is within this context that Turkey launches its war on Afrin, far exceeding the
historical hostility of the Turkish state towards the Kurdish people. The battle
symbolizes the two options that the peoples and communities of the Middle East face today:
between militarist, patriarchal, fascist dictatorships on the one hand, controlled by
foreign imperialist interests and capital, or the solidarity between autonomous,
self-determined, free and equal communities on the other. The defense of Afrin is an
opportunity for the left to unite against fascism and mobilize against militarism,
occupation and war.

WHAT IS AT STAKE

Within the context of the war on ISIS, the same states that are known to have fueled
jihadist forces inside Syria - especially Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar - became part of
a coalition led by the same powers which invaded the Middle East for imperial interests,
committed war crimes in the name of "fighting terrorism," and thus established the ground
on which ISIS would eventually flourish. The forces that represent systems of capitalism,
authoritarian statism, religious fundamentalism and in some cases pure fascism, were put
in charge of establishing democracy and peace.

Meanwhile, as ISIS captured the attention of the international community, the initial
issue of Assad's dictatorial and bloodthirsty rule was side-lined, as were any notions of
a lasting and just peace for Syria. With the entrance of Russia on the Syrian war scene
and the role of Iran, the false binary of Sunni-Shiite animosity - a commonly used trope
to disable just solutions in the Middle East - was reinforced. Regardless of all the
conflicting interests of the involved powers, their common practice was the suppression of
meaningful dissent, grassroots resistance and projects for genuine democratic
alternatives. On the ground, this led to the mobilization of fascist and sectarian
ideologies for which people were willing to die and kill.

By default, any attempts at popular self-determination and self-defense against
colonialism and capitalist exploitation would need to be annihilated for this concept to
work. That explains all the hostility campaigns towards the liberationist Rojava
revolution, including the attempts of big powers such as the US to use Rojava militarily
and try to empty its politics of its revolutionary principles. Taking advantage of the
contradictions emerging within the imperialist power games, the Kurds, trying to stay true
to revolutionary ideals while being literally surrounded by fire and in temporary tactical
alliances with some actors, have constantly been accused of being puppets of imperialism
in their attempt to establish radical democratic systems of self-governance, while
defending millions of lives from certain death by ISIS fascists.

Sadly, the sectarian and dogmatic sections of the international left were unable to read
these emancipatory politics and act accordingly, allowing imperialism to go ahead by
refusing to extend vital solidarity to the Kurds when it was most needed. There is still
time to correct this mistake.

RESISTANCE OR FASCISM

Only a few months after the largely Kurdish Women's Defense Units (YPJ) announced the
liberation of ISIS's capital of Raqqa, where thousands of women had been held as sex
slaves for years, outright religious fundamentalists under Erdogan's command now chant
fanatic slogans accompanied by bizarre neo-Ottoman folkloric war rituals upon crossing
into Syria. The secular, nationalist sections of Turkish politics, which like to think of
themselves as "modern," also cheer-lead the operation with glorifications of fascistic
militarism.

Although jihadist groups like ISIS and al Qaeda affiliates have been beheading,
crucifying, gang-raping and burning alive innocent people for years at the Syrian-Turkish
border, the Erdogan administration did not seem too concerned about "terrorism at its
borders" then. Efforts to expose the military, logistic and political Turkish support for
ISIS have met deaf ears, even when Erdogan could barely disguise his excitement over the
possible fall of the Syrian-Kurdish town of Kobane to the hands of ISIS in 2014.

Once again it is clear that the women's liberationist, multi-ethnic grassroots democratic
experiment of the Democratic Federation of Northern Syria, which started with the Rojava
revolution in 2012, is a far greater threat to Turkish interests than any reactionary
force of rapist murderers. In other words, the Turkish state under Erdogan is trying to
finish what their accomplice ISIS did not manage: to annihilate the legitimate aspirations
for self-determination of the Kurdish people, and with that the possibility of an
alternative Middle East based on solidarity, justice and freedom.

Half a week into the operation, spectacularly named "Operation Olive Branch," the Turkish
state has already committed civilian massacres. In Turkish media, this violation of
international law is called a war for "democracy, fraternity, and peace." The doublespeak
of the "war on terror," started by the Bush administration in the US, is being employed to
fool Turkish society and the world into thinking that this operation is necessary to
protect Turkish citizens from terrorist attacks and to defend national sovereignty.

In reality, the invasion is led by the same state that has imprisoned children, community
activists, legally elected MPs and mayors, journalists, lawyers, teachers, peace
ambassadors, human rights activists, women's rights defenders and academics for demanding
peace, not war. Facts are being twisted, international law suspended. A truly historic
crime is being committed in front of the eyes of the world.

SHOULDER TO SHOULDER WITH AFRIN

The Kurdish saying "we have no friends but the mountains" is often repeated when referring
to the countless massacres, injustices and betrayals that the people of Kurdistan have
experienced throughout their history. Stretching over four of the most important countries
of the Middle East - Turkey, Iraq, Iran and Syria - and constantly threatened with
genocidal attacks from all sides, this expression resonates with lived experience more
than it should.

The saying reflects why the Kurds - or anyone for that matter - can never trust states to
back their desires for freedom and justice. The recent tactical cooperation with Russia
and the US in Syria have been exposed in today's Turkish assaults on Afrin as nothing more
than imperial power games, with both major powers known to be willing to sacrifice the
lives of millions of civilians in order to safeguard their wider geopolitical interests.
The Kurdish freedom movement acted in awareness of this, and that is precisely why, at the
moment of betrayal, their autonomous structures based on self-organization do not dissolve
but prevail. The ordinary population of Afrin, with the consciousness and experience of
self-organization acquired over years, is today ready to defend itself against any attacks
and occupations.

It is now clear that the peoples of the Middle East can only rely on their self-sustained
efforts at mobilizing popular power and international solidarity and comradeship. All over
the world, Kurdish activists have once again occupied the streets to protest the
international war on their freedom struggle. The massive months-long uprising across
Kurdistan and beyond played a decisive role for the eventual victory of Kobane in January
2015. The demands of the current solidarity protests do not only concern the end of
military attacks, but also the ceasing of arms trade with Turkey and calls to start
genuine peace processes in both Turkey and Syria.

In the spirit of Kobane, it is crucial to mobilize solidarity quickly and massively again
today for Afrin. We can never rely on states to take the lead in bringing about justice.
Ordinary people, the oppressed, the resisting, freedom-loving people and communities of
the world must be each other's comrades. Just like hundreds of thousands of people from
Argentina to Afghanistan to South Africa joined our rallies, occupations and protests in
2014 for the defense of Kobane from ISIS fascism, the Kurdish freedom movement and all
democratic, progressive forces in Syria in particular - and in the Middle East more
generally - rely on the power of international solidarity in this historic hour.

In the battle for Afrin, it is possible to see the universal dimensions of popular
struggles against fascism, dictatorship and death - and for democracy, for freedom, for
justice. Afrin's future symbolizes the fate of a region that has been denied a life in
dignity for too long.

It is therefore not an exaggeration to say that Afrin embodies the defense of humanity
today. This is what the war against fascism looks like in twenty-first century Mesopotamia.

We must stand shoulder to shoulder and defend Afrin against fascism!

No pasaran!

The time of the attack ---- On Sunday 21/1, around 13:30 at noon and shortly before the
nationalist rally for Macedonia, fascist groups that participated in it launched a series
of attacks in occupied areas. After first attacking the "social" school and successfully
repelling them, they then approached our occupation, causing damage to the facade and the
fence. These attacks came from the concentration of the Ideapolis cycle and various other
fascist group troops (AME, Holy Loch , C18). The damage was restored directly by members
of our college, who then chose to support the anti-nationalist concentration in Kamara.
After trying unsuccessfully to reach out to the crowd there, around two hours later, the
same group of fascists along with PAOK's fascist hooligans, but also similar Serbs
attacked our occupation with Molotov and flares, causing its arson.

At that time there was no world in the building, as it was in the concentration of Kamara.
Throughout the attack outside the occupation, they were both as insured as they were a
bunch of MAT stationed parachutes, who covered the attack without interfering. The
neighborhood's reaction must be mentioned, as people went out to the balconies shouting at
the fascists, who responded to bells and throwing flares. When the fascists tried to get
back to school again, the police kept the same attitude, covering the fascists and
excluding their comrades in the building. At that time there was no world in the building,

For the events on 21/1

In front of all that has been done there are no excuses. We all know that these groups
were heading toward the White Tower rally and later turning from there. The concentration
of the White Tower functioned as a "Syllaam fountain" for Greek fascism, which was once
again rinsed through sewers. New political careers were built that day, while many
"blatant politicians" were there among the crowd, swallowing undisturbed. The Golden Dawn
killers roamed among our "indignant" fellow citizens, along with the new battalion
battalions, which they carried out a series of murderous attacks with the police striking
back on their backs. The various other floors of the right-wing apartment building were
there (ND, ANEL), a sold out nationalist left (LAE, Freedom of Fame) the bodies of our
always-respected Christian church, aspiring party leaders to eventually create the serious
far-right who so need this place and whose plans were blocked by the assassination of
Griss. The fascist fascism of Greek society has gained social legitimacy and it is up to
the anti-fascist movement to reverse the situation.

And all this in Thessaloniki. In the ever-multicultural capital of the Balkans, the
city of refugee, persecution and extermination of the Jews and other populations, the
murdered 36-year-old workers, the torturers, the heavy-handed paramedic criminals. In all
the crimes of fascism and nationalism that happened in this city came the addition of the
arson of a historic building with more than a century of life. Unfortunately, however,
anyone who does not remember his story is doomed to relive her. Let each one reflect on
his attitude to fascism. Inertia and apathy, along with a climate of depoliticism that
dominates, feed on daily Fascism, and all this nationalistic frenzy has served as a
detonator for its explosion that day. Let everyone think of who the power of the fascists,
who they worked for, with whom they did what they did. We will always be there with our
comrades and comrades to give our daily struggle against fascism, raising embankments to
its expansion until its total elimination.

For the fans

Among the fascists who attacked the concentration of Kamara and those who made the
second attack in our occupation, there were also PAOK followers, which is shown by their
insignia and by the slogans they wrote on the wall of occupation. Here we have to make
clear that Boutaris's attempt to bring arson as a conflict between PAOK's fighters is
vulgar and actually attempts to downplay the fact, since the targeting of our space became
clear because of its political character and it was not a conflict between hooligans. The
announcement that came out later from PAOK's followers found pressures on Boutari's words
to hide the fascists in the fans world, but he does not even say who signed it, on the
other hand already several links have diversified their position. We call PAOK
anti-fascist fans, as well as every group to take their place for the event and to isolate
the fascists from the stadiums and from everywhere. Why antifascism is not for us a cloth
or lifestyle, but a political decision and historical responsibility.

For the counter-concentration of Kamara

"The home of whoever stays when the struggle begins

and leaves others for his case to fight,

he must know (to be prepared) that

who did not take part in the match

the defeat will necessarily be shared in the end.

And something else: never in the end

avoids the fight

whoever wants the fight to avoid -

as for his enemy the case will have fought

whoever for his own did not blame. "(Brecht Brecht)

Throughout this degraded situation our collectivity chose to be on the road to fascism
and to bear the burden of this political decision. The price we pay is heavy and falls
first to us the same and the same ones. A building that housed our ideas, our concerns and
our dreams of a society of equality and freedom, without power and exploitation, was
completely destroyed. A building that, at our own expense from our lag, we had a good time
to maintain and release from its former abandonment and treachery. But those that we
believe and what we are fighting for are not just buildings, so neither will we give up or
abandon the battle at these critical moments, but we will remain with our consciousness
castrated and our stubborn steel. The libertatia affair, of course, does not only concern
us, but it is a matter of all the anti-fascist movement, which will give the proper
answers to the enemies of freedom.

We defend the political decision to engage in anti-nationalism in Kamara on the same
day of the nationalist rally, as we believe that fascism must be fought and crushed on the
road by organized movements and not a hooliganist-type conflict between "extreme" groups.
The decision of the anarchists to act, to take a seat and not to speak all these days with
a massive microphone, a motorized downtown course, and ultimately the concentration of
Kamara shows who took the historic decisions and took on the burden of their
responsibilities. The left unfortunately was absent from this historic appointment,
choosing not to confront something so massive that its social profile was not wrinkled.
But the most important and difficult decision we made is not to weaken the
internationalist concentration that was called by certain groups of the
anarchist-anti-authoritarian area when our occupation accepted the attack, a decision that
was unbearable for us given the final result but politically correct and responsible to
the rest of the comrades who were there. For those who are wondering why the people who
restored the damage did not stay or why there was no caution, it would be worth
considering the value of human life and what would mean such losses. Also, it would be
good to point out that the presence of a dynamic counter-concentration did not give space
to the neo-Nazis in much of the city center, preventing a possible wave of attacks on the
occupations there, but also possible pogroms against any different (immigrants, members of
the lgbtq community, people with alternative dressing, etc.). What was done in libertatia
could be done elsewhere.

At this time, it is not time for ex-offensive criticisms of ourselves and
cannibalistic attitudes within the anti-fascist movement, but time for clustering and
massive responses to the fascism that goes to raise and socialize again. At such moments,
the decisions we make are historical and the movement must remain on the path to the
fascist confrontation.

For the run on the 22/1 and 5 arrests

The day after the attack was called a course outside the occupation area, which was
flanked by about 2,500 anarchist and left-wing worlds. Our intention was to move to the
neighborhoods of eastern Thessaloniki and to reach the School. The cops did not let the
move move, blocking it both in Delphi and Constantinople, and driving it through narrow
streets. For a trivial cause, they attacked the course, capturing 5 people, among them a
companion of our collectivity.

The police's decision to suppress the course and the subsequent detention of comrades
and comrades for 4 days also shows us the attitude of the state towards us. While one day
hostilities are struck by the fascists who are burning squats, the next are attacking
massive marchs and capturing fighters whom they blame for arson in a cloak of rubber a few
hours after they watched a whole building burn. The fact that the class of arson was
transformed from a felony to a felony by the prosecutor also shows the state's political
decision to suppress the anti-fascist movement. This is because arson is transformed into
a felony when there is a danger to human lives. The case in which this risk existed is
obvious to everyone.

What's next

The question at this time is how we will continue now. The will of our collectivity is
to keep the area occupied, rebuilt if possible and re-operational. We state it plainly to
aspiring planters, government officials, fascists and all kinds of lamiya: LIBERTATIA WILL
BE LIVE! We will not make it easy for anyone to abandon the building, but we will continue
our course on the road to the uncompromising anti-fascist struggle. We thank those who
have already shown their practical solidarity, comrades and comrades from every corner of
Greece and abroad. This attitude gives us strength to continue, since at such moments true
partnership is tried and solidarity is emerging not as a mere obligation but as a
revolutionary task.

Equally important at this time is the reaction of the anti-fascist movement that has
to respond to the conjuncture with unity and dynamism on the road and publicly. Let us not
leave space in the public domain for fascists and nationalists, to show internationalism,
class-anti-fascist solidarity and the assembly of the peoples against the common enemy,
that is, the state, the capital and their groups of struggle, the fascists.

THE MISO AND THE ORDER THAT YOU PLACE INTO OUR HEARTS WILL FIND YOU BEFORE YOU

BETWEEN EVERYONE, LIBERTATIA WILL LIVE

In the afternoon of 24 January, roughly 40 riders and supporters gathered outside the
Delivery Hero headquarters in central Berlin. At this fourth demonstration of the
Deliverunion campaign in Berlin so far, riders once again demanded Foodora and Deliveroo
cover their bike repair costs in full. To symbolize the size of the issue, they gathered a
big pile of broken bike parts outside the headquarters' entry door. ---- The companies'
refusal to cover the costs of their workers' working materials, most importantly the
costly repairs of their bikes' wear and tear, has been a central issue for the
Deliverunion campaign from the beginning. The job of a delivery worker takes a heavy toll
on their bike. Spare parts and repairs needed to make their bikes safe and fit for the job
again regularly costs the riders a significant portion of their income, not to mention a
great deal of time. Even Deliveroo and Foodora themselves have by now been forced to admit
that this is not fair.

Deliveroo has officially paid their employees 10ct/km for repairs since August of 2017.
However, hardly anyone has actually recieved that money so far. At the same time,
Deliveroo is contracting more and more so called "freelancers" who, they argue, are
responsible for their own gear. Foodora on the other hand has been promising their workers
a compensation for repair costs ever since May 2017. On Tuesday, just one day before the
demonstration, they finally announced their plan: starting February 2018, riders will get
a credit amounting to 25ct/h at the bike shop "LiveCycle". This translates to 5ct/km at
most, and amounts to a maximum of 42€/month for full time workers. That amount goes
nowhere near covering the costs for the spare parts - let alone the costs of the actual
repairs.

So while this new announcement is certainly a step in the right direction, it is no real
solution to the problem. "I don't know what they are thinking", one Foodora rider said.
"At LiveCycle, for the 42€ you get if you work 168 hours per month, all you can do is
change one flat tire or get your breaks fixed. That is just a bad joke." A colleague from
Deliveroo put it this way: "If you worked in an office, no one would expect you to bring
and repair your own computer. The bikes we ride are working material just like computers
are in offices, so I cannot believe we even need to fight for this."

One thing everyone at the protest agreed on was that this fight is far from over. The
campaign is growing in numbers and riders around the world have already been going on
strike, protesting in the streets or taking the companies to court on many occasions. "We
will continue to put pressure on the companies. The bike repair costs are just one of many
issues, and riders are uniting across company lines and across borders. We will not give
up until we get what we deserve", a member of FAU Berlin summed up the sentiment of the
protesters.

[Video]In the street Saturday, January 27, during the federal coordination of AL, during a
tour in the spring, weapons in hand in the township besieged ... ---- In the libertarian
movement, the defense of Afrin is in everyone's minds. Saturday, January 27, in several
cities in France, thousands of people marched in solidarity with the defenders and
defenders of the Kurdish canton, bombed and attacked for a week by the Turkish army and by
his Syrian Islamic auxiliaries of the Syrian Army free. Libertarian alternative was there!
---- At the demo of Paris, the message delivered by AL (see below) cut through its
revolutionary and anti-imperialist tone, with the speeches while retaining the "  democrat
" of the PCF, the Greens or insubordinate France ... whose The speaker was none other
than the pro-Putin Djordje Kuzmanovic , a shame when we know that Putin gave the green
light to the assault on Afrin.

In parallel stood the federal coordination of Alternative libertarian. Our comrade Arthur
Aberlin was there, returning from Syrian Kurdistan. A round of debates will take place
with him in the spring of 2018. He was also carrying a message from Damien Keller , who is
also involved in the International Liberation Battalion, and currently on the Afrin front.

A message from Damien Keller, from Syrian Kurdistan
Dear comrades,

The distance and the lack of efficient means of communication did not prevent me from
knowing that you are meeting for this weekend for a federal coordination.

I hope that it will bring together a large number of delegates from our organization, that
the debates will be productive and the texts constructive.

The revolution in Rojava has confirmed one thing about us: without an anarchist
organization, it is impossible to hope for a moment to intervene effectively in a
revolutionary process, be it for the political intervention within of society or in
self-defense. Our enemies are organized, many, the current situation can only confirm the
need to build our organization.

This revolution is full of hope, even if disillusions are numerous, I will come back
during several post on my blog.

As you probably know, the situation is critical today: the Afrin enclave is being held in
check by the Turkish army and its Islamist allies claiming to be the Free Syrian Army.
This army is materially superior to us, but our defenses have been prepared for a long time.

When you read this, I'll be off to the front, we are several dozen international
volunteers to join our comrades YPG-YPJ which strongly impede, so far, the 8 th  army in
the world.

The battle for the safeguarding of the Canton of Afrin in the Democratic Federation of
Northern Syria is as important as the Battle of Kobanê. We are at a key moment in the
future of the region.

If Afrin falls, it will encourage Turkey to attack the rest of Rojava.

If we win, it will be a great military victory as well as a political victory as Erdogan's
AK Party has formed an alliance with the MHP fascist party for the 2019 presidential
election. A victory may encourage a revolution. in Turkey.

The battle of Kobanê was our Jarama , that of Afrin will be our Guadalajara .

But this time, it's our side that will win.

Libertarian Alternative's speech

at the Paris demonstration for Afrin

Since 2011, the Turkish state has put in place a criminal policy of interference in the
affairs of the peoples of Syria. He supported Daesh and other jihadist groups so that
these bandits could defend his interests in the region. This policy was a total failure
and only served to increase chaos and unjust violence throughout the Middle East.

At the same time, the Turkish state has repeatedly unleashed its bloodthirsty fury against
the Kurdish people. The Turkish state, which is the state of capitalists and fascists,
lives in fear, terrified by the power of the masses and the revolution they are leading in
Kurdistan. This is the reason why he tries by all possible means to stifle this great
popular movement and to drown in the blood his aspiration to freedom.

After the barbaric siege of Kobanê and the abominable massacres of Cizre, it is now Afrin
that the Turkish butcher decided to strike. Afrin was a conflict-free zone, a haven of
peace in which many refugees had been able to find asylum. Here too, as in all of Rojava,
the masses began to organize themselves, implementing a clearly progressive, democratic
and feminist project.

We at Libertarian Alternative strongly condemn the Turkish and Islamist attack on Rojava
and call for international solidarity with the Kurdish people !

Unsurprisingly, the imperialist states and their leaders, accompanied by their regional
lackeys, support the Turkish aggression or accompany it with guilty silence. They see the
Kurds as mere pawns in their power games and are all accomplices of the butchery that is
coming. Macron the hypocrite bends in front of Erdogan, while the Russians withdraw their
troops from Afrin and open the way to the Turkish army. Meanwhile, the Americans, those
cowards who were so happy to see the Kurds shed their blood to fight Daesh, are content to
ask the Turks to act quickly enough not to threaten US interests in the region.

May this serve as a lesson to us all. The real strength of a revolution is not American
planes, French special forces or Russian military instructors. No, the real strength of a
revolution lies in the masses, in the millions and millions of men and women who, in
Kurdistan, Syria and elsewhere, are rising to take their destiny in their own hands and
build a future of peace and freedom. They are the indestructible wall against which the
dogs of Turkey will crash. Erdogan's defeat will be that of Macron, Trump, Putin and all
the other imperialist leaders of the world.

Kobanê has conquered, Afrin will win !
Long live the international solidarity of peoples !
Down with imperialism and tyrants !

"This event is of paramount importance in the history of the revolution today in its
infancy and in the support that the international revolutionary movement can bring." ----
Libertarian Alternative reproduces the posts of the blog Kurdistan-Autogestion-Revolution
where, after Arthur Aberlin, engaged in the YPG, now expresses Damien Keller, engaged him
in the International Liberation Battalion (IFB). ---- Over the weeks, he will testify to
the life in the IFB, the debates that are going on and the evolution of the revolutionary
process in the Democratic Federation of Northern Syria. ---- International Liberation
Battalion, Canton of Cizîrê, January 22, 2018 ---- Since 21 January, Turkey has been
invading the canton of Afrin, helped by groups claiming free Syrian army, for some
Salafists and / or panturcs.

Thus, the population of this enclave of the Democratic Federation of Northern Syria (FDSN)
today undergoes the bombing of Turkish aviation and resists ground attacks with its
military forces that are the YPG and the YPJ, as well as the conscripts militia, the HXP.

The international community reacted until now timidly to this attack which threatens the
revolution that takes place today in the North of Syria. Russia, previously allied with
the FDSN in its fight against the Islamic State begins to betray its alliance with it, the
United States and other Western countries react only by press releases.

This betrayal is not a surprise
This betrayal, the comrades here had predicted, having given these allies strategic
necessity while they and then they had no choice, surrounded by many enemies. Moreover,
nothing is certain about maintaining the neutrality of the Bashar al-Assad regime.

This is further proof that we have nothing to expect from the capitalist and imperialist
countries that act in the Middle East only for their economic and political interests.
This event is of paramount importance in the history of the revolution today in its
infancy and in the support that the international revolutionary movement can bring.

Indeed, we are facing here an attack of armed forces better equipped than ours and perhaps
superior in number. To recall, the Turkish army is the 2 th largest in NATO and the 9 th
in the world, including more than 500,000 soldiers and 100,000 paramilitary. The
imperialist states, to safeguard their interests in the region, may decide to counter the
attack more actively, but nothing tells us.

If there is a time when we need revolutionary activists, then it is today.

For our part, we, international revolutionary volunteers, are ready and ready to fight
alongside our YPG and YPJ comrades to defend the revolution.

In France or elsewhere, you have the possibility to help us:

sharing information about what is happening in Syria today ;
by taking part in the solidarity demonstrations, announced in France in particular by the
Kurdistan women's facebook pages, the Kurdistanews Kurdistan news and the Kurdish
Democratic Council's CDKF news ;
by organizing support actions, in particular against the embassies of Turkey ;
by popularizing the experience of the young revolution now in progress ;
joining us to fight the dictatorships that threatens this revolution.
Bijî bexwedana Efrinê !
Bijî têkosîna dijfasîstî u dijemperyalîstî !
Bijî soresa navneteweyî !

Long live Afrin's resistance !
Long live the anti-fascist and anti-imperialist struggle !
Long live the international revolution !

As people may know the Solidarity Federation has been involved in numerous disputes
involving wage theft. However just in case you were thinking that bosses stealing workers
hard earned wages was just a British phenomenon we have just received the following
request from our sister organisation in the International Workers Association Priama Akcia
who organise in Slovakia. ---- "We would like to ask you to show solidarity with Mia, who
is together with Priama akcia in conflict with Space Mania café. You can send a protest
e-mail directly to the boss Viera Pierce, who refuses to pay owed money to her former
worker Mia. The total owed sum is 222.44 €. Since October 2017, Mia has been trying to get
her unpaid wage, but her boss ignored her written requests as well as protest actions she
organized together with her friend in front of the café. In December 2017 Priama akcia
entered into the conflict concerning Mia's unpaid wage. The article contains all the
background details a a template of a protest e-mail."

CAPITALISM IS INTERNATIONAL AND MUST BE FOUGHT INTERNATIONALLY, SUPPORT THE PRIAMA AKCIA
