Paphos Kidney Association and Paphos Music Lovers presents
CYPRUS BRASS BAND PLAYS BACH
Monday 26 March 6pm - UKCA Club Paphos
Tickets: €10 including a welcome drink - open to non-members
All proceeds go to the Paphos Kidney Association fund for a new Renal Ward.
The programme will include brass band versions of some of Bach’s most beautiful melodies including Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, Sheep May Safely Graze, and Arioso from Harpsichord Concerto No.5, as well as some uniquely brass band takes on some other up-tempo popular works.
Cyprus Brass Band was formed in March 2015, and is the only British-style community brass band on the island. Their instrumentation, featuring cornets and tenor horns instead of trumpets and french horns, helps create the unique traditional British brass band sound. The band is conducted by Jamie McVicar, brass teacher to the schools on the British Bases in Cyprus.
