DEALER TREASURY MONEY MARKETS (X1)
JOB PURPOSE
As an active member of the Treasury Function, the Money Markets Treasury Dealer will be responsible for spear heading the fixed income and money market function of Treasury.
Under the supervision of the Head –Trading, the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities:-
To have critical input in the Bank’s overall Asset and Liability Management (ALM) strategy.
To maximize money market income through effective fundamental and technical market analysis.
To promote and encourage cross selling of products.
To ensure that trading is done within regulatory and internal limit requirements.
To generate, identify, evaluate and make recommendations on overall treasury Strategy and business.
To efficiently manage both the current account at BOZ and Nostro accounts in order to invest excess liquidity and maximize shareholder value.
To make the market externally to approved counter parties and internally to both Corporate Sales and Market Making Teams, so as to attain the Bank’s strategic goals/objectives.
Provide input into developing and implementing the Treasury fixed income and money market trading strategy.
Drive initiatives to stem balance sheet and income leakages.
Be accountable for all Fixed Income and Money Market instruments and products financial KPI’s.
Proactively manage all interest rate risks associated with the gathering of liabilities and assets where this is the direct responsibility of Treasury.
Apply the transfer pricing policies of the Bank at all times.
To ensure effective management of surplus and short funding positions to enhance liquidity and maximize returns.
Manage the cost of deposits in accordance to the agreed Treasury Strategy.
Provide input into the Strategy for diversifying of deposits to avoid concentration risk.
Ensure that gathering of liabilities and assets is done within set guidelines and limits as set by the Bank and in adherence to regulatory requirements.
To effectively trade Money market instruments to ensure strategic Asset & Liability alignment in accordance with overall ALM strategy.
Identify pertinent performance and Risk Management issues.
To manage liquidity mismatches via execution of the Strategy.
To manage maturity mismatches via execution of the Strategy.
To review mark to market valuations on the securities portfolio.
To anticipate stakeholder actions in order to formulate business planning.
Ensure that all workflow, processes and procedures are followed.
Ensure that all regulatory requirements are met and complies with all internal policies and procedures.

External: Local Regulators on statutory matters and Financial Institutions
Internal: All Divisions
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Grade 12 Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects.
University Degree in relevant subject.
Treasury Qualification such as ACI or ACT.
At least two-three (2-3) years banking management experience.
Knowledge of banking products, services and policies and/or other specialist knowledge required to undertake the role.
