AMS Advanced Mountaineering Course- 5/10 Sykes

AMS guide John Sykes and crew checked in on May 12th about 3:30pm after returning to camp from attempting Explorer Peak. "Decided to turn around due to snow conditions. Everyone doing great." Summit of Explorer's Peak is approximately 8,300 feet. The advanced course basecamp is situation at 5,444 feet in the Ruth Amphitheater. Explorer's Peak is an interesting snow climb that is best attempted early summer. Go team go!
