ROOTS

The Kukai dance group and the musical band Oreka TX from the Basque country present the performance Roots.

The two internationally highly awarded groups, having their roots in Basque culture, rhythm and dance, do not hesitate to re-define themselves in a modern way, calling this process as drawing new material from an old source.

In “Roots” they mix dance and music, thinking that there is music in dancing and, of course, dance in the production of music.

The members of Oreka ΤΧ are: Harkaitz Martinez de San Vicente, Mikel Ugarte, Juanjo Otxandorena, Mixel Ducau and Iñigo Eguia.

The performance is part of the 20th International Contemporary Dance Festival, organized by the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Rialto theatre.
