![]() Dear friends, Three-year-old Josué learned to walk and talk in detention. Josué and his mother fled to the U.S. to escape horrific violence and kidnapping threats. Instead of finding refuge, they have been held in detention for over 500 days. Act now to call for their immediate release! Josué (age 3), Antonio (age 7), Carlos (age 4), Michael (age 16) (all pseudonyms to help protect their identities) and their mothers are all seeking asylum. Their countries failed to protect them and so did the United States. Rather than finding refuge, they have been held in detention for over 500 days. Josué has spent over half of his life in this facility. Four-year-old Carlos pleads with his his mother daily, “Why can’t we get out of here?” ICE officials have refused to release these four children and their mothers, even though the children have special immigrant juvenile status and pending applications for legal permanent residency. All are also seeking asylum in the U.S. This is a grave human rights violation. Tell ICE that Josué, Carlos, Michael, Antonio and their mothers should be released without delay. Join us to ensure that these children do not have to spend one more day in detention. Thank you for taking action. Sincerely, Margaret Huang Executive Director Amnesty International USA ![]() | ||
