Letters to the Others
Writers from Pafos exchange correspondence with other writers living in Aarhus (Denmark) and Plovdiv (Bulgaria), European Capitals of Culture in 2017 and 2019 respectively. These letters are not just a way of introducing or presenting one’s city of residence, but they are also ways to exchange ideas about literary expression and getting acquainted with the other. Letters were preferred in this case, with e-mails however not excluded, in order to revive epistolary literature and integrate it in today’s condition where the need to communicate is more urgent than ever. These writers will then visit Pafos and, along with the local writer with whom they had exchanged correspondence, they will present their work on stories of social particularities as well as similarities.
