The series attempts to liquidate an island of freedom and autonomy Zizkov underwent
another episode, in which you played a major role in the RIA officials. Unconcerned
building owner Former pulmonary clinic OGRPA, in a dogged attempt to clobber this aberrant
mládežníkum and their program of lectures, workshops, concerts and language courses,
deliberately avoided the interests of the municipality, which could preserve the building,
at least as a center-profit organizations, and shot her in the Administration Railway
(SŽDC). Officers and officers of the RIA to the last moment refused to make any comment,
and the first official statement even have stated that no project for the building of
clinics planned. When Deputy Drmola of the RIA discovered that everything will not go as
smoothly as you probably imagined, he began to escalate rhetoric and attack suddenly
appeared a plan for the reconstruction of the building, from which it would become an
office complex. As if they were already in Prague were few. The RIA is yet one of the
largest property owners in the Czech Republic, moreover, has OGRPA in Prague plethora of
empty buildings and more convenient. It is essential that the reconstruction of the
building for office space is necessary rezoning. This can take two to three years. All
circumstances indicate that there is not so much about the office, such as the destruction
of the self-governing autonomous center project, which is some eyesore. Especially those
who steadfastly wield Battalion ideology of private property and the alleged legality,
even if no matter how topsy.
On Wednesday, December 14, officials advised the RIA his visit to the clinic building.
Collective Clinics So on the eve of the plenum held a public on further action and called
on his supporters to Wednesday morning together "welcome male and female employees RIA"
who were allegedly preparing the first steps toward reconstruction. Finally, the common
breakfast arrived nearly a hundred people, who subsequently enjoyed another program, such
as screening on rebelce Pippi Long stocking. Perhaps desetihlavá official delegation,
however, had long been useless. Reportedly unable to find tools. He stood in front of the
media and above all overseen by vigilant police.
After ten, that an hour later, the delegation began the tour. Of them were employees of
the RIA and external staff, the whole thing then Mr. Cermak from the legal department of
the General Directorate of the RIA. Clinics gave them a collective synergy and building
them passed. Delegations focused all interior spaces and garden, check electricity and
water, and one group focused on fire safety. There had from the team clinics available
documents, including a valid inspection of electrical wiring, fire extinguishers etc. The
visit lasted less than two hours. According to Mr. Cermak after the visit representatives
were surprised by the RIA real structural condition of the building, from which it is
apparent that knew about it at the time he so much wanted. After years of decay can be a
clinic in good condition, and not the maximum possible care voluntary collective of
activists on how much of a difference. It is questionable whether the RIA after visiting
the building re-evaluated their plans, particularly if prior to the commencement of
reconstruction must take place rezoning, on which the RIA probably have not even requested.

Housing is a social good and not a commodity ---- Inside the lunar landscape of Greek
reality, as formulated in the period of capitalist crisis, the right-left governments and
the European Union, the social wealth bleeding campaign puts another purpose: housing.
After the all-out attack the state and capital to work, agriculture, insurance, social
liberties, the environment and social goods, raise their targeted one of the few remaining
materials supports the working class and oppressed. ---- The antiasfalistiko bill passed
by parliament, is another face of the new war which has declared the local and
international capital to employees, self-employed, farmers, pensioners and by extension to
all people who support with their incomes ( children, relatives with chronic diseases,
etc.). After the new criminal bill in social security, is more evident than ever that an
all-out counterattack class, in the fields of housing, insurance, health, leading to a
concerted proletarian refusal of payment is necessary.
Leaving now aside any pretext, the recent enactment of prerequisites in late 2015 by the
SYRIZA-ANEL government, paving the way for the advent and international finance capital
against the house. Manage Red loans and real estate longer enter into international
investment houses and funds, and in particular, as the guardian of the interests of
debtors against the above companies, displayed by the Bank of Greece and the Banking Code
of Conduct (!).
After 'legal drafting improvements "in November substantially slash whatever protections
existed until now, the framework of the auctions protection afstiropoieitai dramatically
timeouts remain unclear, while new abstract concepts are introduced as the" cooperative
borrower. " Clarifications, definitions, reviews etc., Pass all the banking crisis. The
government washes its hands, simply asking bankers to show understanding and grace (see.
Dragasakis November statements). Queues of debtors in local courts late last December, for
joining the relatively favorable settings Katseli Law, reveal the dimensions of the
threat. The application for inclusion in the Act itself is a costly process with the
required amount could rise to about 1000 euro. Even the claim to protect, handsomely paid.
From 1/1 / 2016, the possibility of zero dose abolished for those who have no income or
unable not only to pay their installments and to cope with daily expenses of their
families. In addition, it opened the process of free sale and reducing the costs of
auctioning. If that is the first auction prove fruitless, the second starts at half the
market value of the property, and if he too is not completed, the third starts from zero
starting price. Even if the property is auctioned at an amount lower than the commercial
value and the loan amount, the borrower still owes the bank the remaining amount. And
loses his home and still owes. In essence sought from borrowers repayment of the loan for
the second time. And this at a time when many of the red loans have essentially paid to
banks through taxes and bank recapitalization.
So if someone is unable to repay the banks the net profit will be marked "uncooperative"
and the house will be coming under the hammer or alternatively, the loan can be passed
into the hands of investment houses, who added convenience -as the banks do not expect
necessarily to the repayment of the loan will convert the property to a financial product
and gambling, multiplying their winnings. For us, the defense of the first housing and
preventing evictions and auction, is practical and class terms defend the social good
housing. Away from populist, radical Falsified fanfare, our policy framework for the fight
against auctions, is class protection of all social assets, part of which is the
dwelling-house.
The cancellation of an auction in the county court, shifts the process to two months after
creating a first time, a temporary defense forefront of our class. Therefore, the presence
of all of us in local courts is necessary. We must realize the need to pass from the
defense of housing, to guarantee as good for all and all; the necessity of passing from
defense to attack.
Starting from this position, and against all private and commercial exploitation of the
dwelling use but put the tool of the occupation as a form of militant recovery of social
wealth, to ensure housing for all the oppressed of the world, homeless / s, immigrants /
only three, laborers / behavior shows, the ftochodiavolous of our time.
As Anarchist Federation, part of the exploited and oppressed, we fight with our class by
any means. We will be there, the local courts, roads, neighborhoods, opposite to the
judges, bank representatives and managers of investment funds, in physical confrontation
if necessary with their uniformed protectors; with the poor, the unemployed, workers, the
oppressed with the exploited against the state and capital.
Do not let anyone just opposite to bank gangs

Reforms - an attack on the working class ---- "Autonomy and struggle: students and workers
decide!" ---- In September 2016 the Brazilian government published a Provisional Measure
(MP 746) outlining a reform in secondary education that would have devastating
consequences for the education system, disproportionately affecting majority-black working
class students. ---- Students responded with direct action and occupied schools in the
state of Paraná, with occupations soon spreading to at least six other states. One month
later 600 high schools in Paraná alone had been occupied to protest the government's
attack on public education - which comes in the context of a broader attack on the working
class through a Proposed Constitutional Amendment (PEC 241) that threatens to freeze
public spending on health, education and social welfare until 2037.
The reform seeks to change the high school curriculum, making it more technical
skills-focused and orienting it more towards the production of students as a labour supply
for the market; as opposed to widening and deepening their knowledge base and developing
their intellectual faculties. It would also open secondary education up to greater private
sector involvement, including the outsourcing of high school teaching. Student protesters
say it is an attempt by the ruling class to profit from public education and make
employment and career opportunities more precarious, by restricting the type of education
the working class has access to produce lessqualified workers with less capacity for
critical thinking and social analysis.
The number of mandatory subjects would be slashed by half - art, sociology and philosophy,
among others, would become optional - and students would select subject modules according
to their professional interests. Students fear some schools would only offer technical
courses and subjects that fall under "human sciences", for example, would be scrapped.
Students wishing to study things other than the technical training offered at schools
nearby would either have to go to faraway public schools or to expensive private schools.
This would disadvantage students from working class families and shows a clear class bias,
whereby those students whose families have the money can study whatever they want; and
those that don't have to resign themselves to a future of underpaid precarious work.
The reforms would also increase the number of compulsory working hours from 800 hours per
class per year to 1400.
However, MP 746 also recognises work experience, among others, as a possible way to
achieve the required hours. Because working class students often already have to work
part-time out of economic necessity this would lead to students working longer hours, for
low wages and with limited workers' rights, in order both to make more money to support
themselves financially but also to meet the compulsory hour requirement - while spending
less time in a classroom receiving actual instruction and having less time to do homework etc.
However, in various struggles in 2015 and 2016 students in Brazil were able to defeat
government attacks on education through mass resistance. There is thus hope to believe
that students will be able to resist the current attack on their education and their future.
Key lessons
What lessons, then, does the Brazilian secondary student movement offer struggles elsewhere?
One of the movement's defining features - be it in struggles against the potential closure
of 100 public schools in Sao Paulo in 2015, for better conditions at schools in Rio de
Janeiro in February 2016, or the current struggle against MP 746 and PEC 241 - is the
autonomous character it assumed in relation to political parties and mainstream student
organisations. The students' struggles have been driven by the students themselves and
they have defended the movement from attempts, by some student organisations and political
parties, to harness it for their own interests.
High school students in Brazil show us a form of struggle that does not need or rely on
the old bureaucratic and centralised structures of the traditional student movement and
unions. By rejecting class reconciliation, maintaining their independence and relying on
direct action and direct democracy the students have defended public education, won
victories and could even galvanise other sectors into struggle against austerity and
attacks on the working class. Whereas, like in South Africa, ordinary members of
traditional unions and student organisations are often held back from engaging in
meaningful strike and protest action because of their bureaucratisation and
centralisation, participation in corporatist bargaining structures and relations with
political parties, the students struggling in Brazil offer another way for working class
organisation and resistance - one based on direct action, direct democracy, political
independence and working class autonomy.
And it is in this way that a broader struggle of the working class should be built to
confront the neoliberal onslaught - not only in Brazil but globally.

This past Sunday, friends, family and comrades of Michael Israel gathered in Sacramento to
mourn his loss and share stories about his life. There were many tears, but also laughs as
we shared our past experiences with Mike. After that we sang some songs together including
Solidarity Forever, Joe Hill, and the Internationale. We concluded by lighting candles and
marching down a central street, singing off and on. This was met positively by onlookers,
several of whom expressed their condolences. We ended the march at a local bar and
continued our reminiscing over drinks. ---- We're also raising money to support his
family, every little bit helps. ---- Michael Israel was someone it was easy to get along
with. In his 27 years on earth, he touched many hearts. He was often called "a man of few
words." What this fails to convey is his committed style of listening and dialogue. He
taught through learning, and was rarely one to scold or interrupt. He was genuinely
interested in others, and that alone won him many friends.
He was not one to simply argue or express his opinion for it's own sake. He showed his
convictions through commitment and action rather than idle talk. He sought out labor
leaders and dedicated himself to helping with strikes. He was an early participant in
Occupy Sacramento and the modern incarnation of the Sacramento IWW. Before leaving for
Rojava, he worked at SEIU, but quit in frustration. He went because he dreamed of seeing a
living social revolution, and he did. He fought against fascism in Syria and in
Sacramento, but did not fetishize armed struggle. He did not flinch at the need to defend
against oppressors, but knew that true freedom can only come through mutual understanding
and respect, which bullets cannot bring.
His commander in the YPG said of him, "He was one of the rare people who really came here
to work. You could count people like that on the fingers of one hand."
Some of the last things he expressed to those closest to him was his wish for people
internationally to rally behind the Rojava Revolution, in both supporting it concretely as
he did, and learning and applying it's lessons in our own communities.
We'll always miss you Mike.
You live on in all of us.

For women*, girls*, lesbians*, transgender and intergender ---- The last couple of months
every second news paper reported that women* and girls* are not feeling safe on the
streets anymore and that the stock of pepper spray in the city is running out. As a result
groups of white males are clustering in social networks in order to protect the alleged
helpless women*. ---- At the moment the people who are held responsible for problems
regarding sexism, homophobia, transphobia and violence against women* and girls*, are
those who recently came to Germany. This circumstance results not only in our experiences
- which some of us had to deal with throughout their entire life - being negated and
denied but also all the fights being fought for decades now. ---- Hence we want to take
back the streets and the night with you - all women*, girls*, lesbians, trans- and
inter-people regardless of your origin, sexual orientation or religion! We want all of you
to join, whether with or without handycap, with a fixed abode or not, regardless of your
age or your income!
To liberate ourselves from nowadays bitter reality we need to unite our individual
strengths and fight back!
Let´s gather at the 20th of December at 7 PM at the Augustinerplatz and make some noise
while walking to the theatre, because our voices need to be heard eventually!
*If you need anything in order to participate - a translation for example - don´t be

Why you should support #IWGB: ---- "UPDATE: Deliveroo is victimizing one of our key
activists: Ben Geraghty. Ben has been working for Deliveroo for over a year and has been
at the forefront of the IWGB's attempts to gain union recognition through the courts in
order to achieve "worker" status for Deliveroo drivers as well as win the first collective
bargaining agreement in the so-called "gig economy". As part of this Ben has led a number
of recruitment stalls in Camden where we have been signing up Deliveroo workers to the
union and getting drivers to sign a petition stating they support union recognition of the
IWGB..." ---- HOW TO MAKE A DONATION ---- On Monday, 5 December, 2016 Ben received an
email from David Scott, the same Deliveroo manager who is handling Deliveroo's response to
the tribunal claim, saying that Deliveroo was investigating an "incident" (the incident
was Ben riding a co-worker's cargo bike up and down the block once, with the co-worker's
permission).
Interestingly, the "incident" took place at an IWGB recruitment stall. (See the email
below). The next day Ben tried to get work shifts at Deliveroo and was told there was no
work currently available for him before Christmas. However it has come to our attention
that Deliveroo has terminated Ben's contract without even telling him - see the picture
from Deliveroo's internal system here.
This is trade union victimisation pure and simple and the IWGB will not tolerate it.
We need your help. We are a small union with little resources. We need to run an office,
cover admin costs and to continue to support people like Ben. But we need your help.
Please give whatever you can afford.

This year eligible voters in the U.S. were faced with two choices for president from the
two major parties which represent the interests of the capitalist class. Hillary Clinton,
the center-right warhawk whose role in the Honduras coup was responsible for the death of
environmental and indigenous rights activist Berta Caceres (1). And Donald Trump, the
ruthless capitalist, right wing populist and celebrity who is known for excluding people
of color from renting at his properties (2). Trump’s presidential win sent shockwaves
throughout the U.S. since public polls generally favored Clinton and many folks believed
he still could not possibly win, despite how far he had come to beat out his many
competitors for the GOP nomination. ---- Already we are seeing extremely ill effects of
Trump’s win in regards to the emboldening of reactionaries and neo-nazis, some of whom are
increasingly attacking minorities (3) (4). Additionally, many establishment democrats
along with Richard Trumpka, president of AFL-CIO, have since publicly expressed
willingness to “work with” Trump (5). It’s becoming clear that the situation for the
working class in the U.S. may be very dire for the next 4+ years.
Trump’s right wing populism resonated especially with the ultra-right and neo-nazis, many
of whom publicly supported and campaigned for him. This is because they believe Trump’s
rhetoric will work in favor of the interests of their own politics which center around
race realism, ethnic nationalism, gender essentialism, social darwinism and conspiracy
theory. The reality is that Trump’s interests, like Hillary’s, center around the
interests of the capitalist class they are both in, and these interests include ruthless
domination and exploitation of the global working class.
WSA stands with the global working class, oppressed and poor people throughout the world.
At this time we especially express solidarity with working class and poor U.S. minorities
who are now and will in the future face the wrath of reactionaries emboldened by Trump’s
presidential win. We believe now is the time for the U.S. working class to organize and
build strong grassroots militant organizations to protect themselves and each other, as
well as to push for a positive alternative to capitalism. In addition, we are very
interested in discussing the possibility of building coalitions and/or networks with
like-minded U.S. organizations rooted in left libertarian intersectional class struggle.
In solidarity, for working class liberation,
Workers Solidarity Alliance

Right wingers who want to attack women and put them back in the kitchen and to encourage
rape culture, who want to attack Muslims in the streets and in their homes and where they
worship, who want to build for fascism and war, are out and mobilizing. When Milo
Yiannopoulos spoke at MSU this past week about 40-50 anti-fascists came out to attempt to
shut down the event and 200-300, mainly students it appeared, came out to attend the event
and did attend the event. ---- The anti-fascist forces seem to be stuck in an earlier
time. For many of us who have been fighting the klan and Nazis and skinheads for years, it
is time to update to fighting the alt right. This is no time to forget about the klan and
Nazis, as the alt right strategy appears to be to combine middle class frenzy and fear
with fascist forces and ideology.
The main slogan was: “No Trump, No KKK, No Fascist USA.” The Milo supporters, at times,
returned a chant of “Fascist USA,” or the mindless “USA, USA, USA.” They also threw in a
“commies go home” chant to show they were out of touch and wishing for old times. The
anti-fascist forces, however, seemed stuck in tired chants and not in quite in touch with
this new alt right. We need to update.
A “black bloc” Milo attempting to prank anti-Milo protest in East Lansing.
Milo appeared among his supporters outside, during the standoff, wearing a ski mask for a
moment and carrying a “Milo Sucks” sign. One of Milo’s employees also wore a mask for a
few seconds, carrying a sign saying “Fuck Raceism.” These were Milo’s lame attempts at
humor, both fell flat, but when Milo announced himself to his supporters, some in the
crowd went into a bit of frenzy.
Our smaller, anti-fascist group held off the larger group of Milo supporters for about an
hour, blocking their entrance to the hall. Then the campus cops attacked the anti-fascist
forces from behind, arrested seven and opened the way for Milo’s supporters to enter the hall.
A few things stand out. First Milo and his supporters did better mobilizing then the
anti-fascist forces. There are many students at MSU who are anti-fascist, why didn’t more
students turn out to oppose Milo speaking on campus? Our side has work to do on explaining
the real dangers Trump and Milo and the developing fascist movements represent to all of
us. It is important now for anti-fascist forces to be out and organizing on campuses and
in cities and in all of our communities.
Most of all we need to understand that fighting and opposing the alt right is not the same
as fighting the klan. Milo’s supporters are middle class white students being called out
to attack women and Muslims and Black people. Milo attempts to rely on hip fascist humor
to gain support; he has made a name for himself by being a troll and attacking women using
social media. Middle class white students supporting Milo and fascist ideas reminds us of
Hitler’s rise to power in Germany and the support of middle class college students for the
Nazis. Milo is calling for a war against Islam.
One of the middle class students waiting for Milo made a racist remark, and I said he was
a middle class piece of shit. He corrected me and said he was upper middle class. He was
afraid of being included with the regular middle class and no doubt horrified at the
thought of being identified with the working classes, but where is he going? Somehow I
assume he sees his future as being tied with gaining/maintaining the upper hand against
working people, communities of color, women, Muslims, Latinos, and so on. He hopes that by
allying himself with Milo and Trump and a developing fascist movement, he will carve out a
space for himself and comfort for himself at the expense of people beneath him. He wants
to join with Milo and Trump to be on top against the rest of us.
The cops escorted Milo into the hall through another entrance and then attacked the
anti-fascist forces and opened the way for milo’s supporters to enter the hall. This
frenzy of trying to gain advantage at someone else’s expense, this frenzy of hating women
and Muslims, this frenzy of taking up white nationalism and war fever, these are the
dangers. This is not the old time klan, these college students are so lame that they think
it makes them hip to support Milo and to embrace or consider embracing fascism.
How do we organize against Milo and the middle class frenzy of some white college
students? For starters, we fight and organize on the campuses. The attacks on women, the
support for rape culture are real and dangerous. Milo and Trump and their middle class
supporters encourage assaults on women and are urging attacks on Muslims as a build up to
war. Our job is to organize community self defense, real self defense forces to defend
against these attacks. Our self defense forces must include all of us: women, men, gay,
straight, trans, Muslim, Latino, Black, white, all of us.
Our main organizing must be in working class communities and communities of color. I went
to a demonstration in Roseville, Michigan last week. A young Muslim woman who had
graduated from Roseville high school a few years ago called the demonstration because the
vice president of the Roseville School Board is posting vicious attacks on Muslims as in
all Muslims are terrorists and racist attacks on Black people. The demonstration at the
school board meeting was small, about 25-30 people, majority Muslim but including Muslim,
Black and white. It was not a radical demonstration; it was calling for this racist to be
removed from the school board. What was important to me was that ordinary people saw the
danger and the need to organize against these racist and anti-Muslim attacks. No one was
wearing masks. People went into the school board meeting and some spoke out against the
racist and called for his removal. The young Muslim woman who called the demonstration and
her mother had appeared on local news broadcasts to explain why they were calling the
demonstration to oppose these attacks. This takes courage, and there was no bravado, just
determination.
To build the fight against fascism, we need to organize on the campuses and we need to
organize in working class communities and schools and workplaces. These are the front
lines. We need to organize united, working class defense against racist, misogynist and
anti-Muslim attacks. We need to understand that this is not the same as past organizing
against the klan, that Trump and the alt right are attempting to make fascist ideas and
racist attacks mainstream and normal. We need to make defending against these attacks,
uniting our forces to defeat the fascists, mainstream and normal.
These are difficult times. People are under attack. There is fear, and it is not
unfounded. This is no time to run and hide. This is time to organize and fight. This is no
time for handwringing. This is time for all hands on deck to fight and defeat the fascists.

Again and again, the same question is heard: What is anarchy? What is anarchism based on?
What does an anarchist believe in? Again and again, each response is impregnated with the
individual seal, a variation of self-thinking, of self-view, which does not accept
previous definitions, nor does it articulate its ideas on the basis of official books. To
discover anarchy, one must reason freely, one has to let go of obedience. ---- However, of
the set of answers that we find throughout the ages, it is the masculine pronouncement
around the anarchism that the premium. In addition to this and as a reflection of a
patriarchal society, the intellectual work of thousands of anarchist women has been
relegated from the bibliographical sources, contributing to a process of forgetting their
ideas, chores and proposals.
This is undoubtedly one of the main errors of anarchism in its current development.
Dialogue with referents of the past falls automatically into male figures, extolled by
their vast spread in our language during the last decades, restricting considerably to
other voices of the field of ideas that constitute the anarchist thinking.
For this reason, we gather the perspectives of women over 17 anarchist anarchy, anarchism,
the anarchists and the female anarchic feel , Juana Rouco Buela would say. No great
prologues or scientific studies are necessary to glimpse the lucid message of anarchist
women. Their voices, dispersed in the globe and spread over time, do not merit any
chronological order or classification. Each of them has its own seal. They are alive, they
sing with clarity to our violent and servile times.
Anarchists, in general, also cultivated literature. His prose stand out in the infinite
flora of anarchy. A fruitful work, the crucible of his ideas is immense. The following
pages bring together women from Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, the United States,
United Kingdom, Italy and Spain, from various angles on anarchist sentiments, aesthetic
thinking and action, libertarian ethics.
"The Idea: prospects for anarchist women" is the first volume of the Libertarian

In France, a woman dies every three days under the blows of her spouse. If it is so
frequent, it is because it is not an accident, it is not a question of people, and above
all, it does not happen to others. Spousal violence is a combination of psychological and
physical abuse, verbal, physical and sexual abuse, which involves the killing of a woman
as an autonomous person, with the risk of her actual killing. ---- What is conjugal
violence? ---- Contrary to popular belief, marital violence does not mean beatings. Fall
into the category of domestic violence: ---- verbal aggression: insults and abuse, ----
the psychological pressures: remarks and banned constant of controlling, humiliate, ----
intimidate, isolate (monitor or prevent contact with other people), denigrate and devalue. ..
physical assault,
sexual assault and marital rape.
This definition of conjugal violence was not invented by radical feminists - who
nevertheless share it - but it is the one used by the first major survey carried out in
France on this issue and commissioned by the government: violence against women in France
(Enveff), which dates from 2000.
psychological abuse such as physical aim to establish the total domination of men over
women in a tyrannical perspective, where everything contributes to a climate of terror.
This climate of terror allows the submission and emotional and social isolation of the
woman, to better control her. The object of man's anger can be important or futile, it
does not matter, it is arbitrary, since it is above all to make live in fear.
How it works?
Domestic violence is still largely invisible in our society, only 16% of battered women
file a complaint. Others refrain from doing so, often to protect their children, their
reputation or fear. Spousal violence is based on a complex process where the psychological
grip of the violent spouse undermines self-esteem and ability to act in the victims. There
is often talk of the "cycle of conjugal violence", which is repeated continually: first
the violence rises to a point of crisis, followed by regrets, promises and apologies,
during an idyllic phase called "moon honey ". This is what makes it clear that many women
keep hope instead of getting out of this situation. Yet violence always comes back cyclically.
Just as rape is favored by a "culture of rape" which legitimizes it, so too the dominant
representations of love justify and trivialize conjugal violence. Among these
representations are, on the one hand, those which present love as a sacrifice, a total
gift of self and a surrender to the other; On the other hand, those who present love as a
devastating passion that can lead to the destruction of the other. Yet, to love is not to
destroy!
Contrary to common prejudice, the Enveff survey cited above has shown that marital
violence crosses all social backgrounds and all socio-professional categories in equal
parts. In other words, to believe that spousal violence only affects the poor is a matter
of pure class contempt: it does not depend on the level of income or the level of the
degree of the aggressors and assaults. 40% of cases of spousal violence occur in the
couple during a first pregnancy when women are the most isolated (sick leave or maternity
leave) or the most physically vulnerable.
The hetero couple, a revealer of inequalities?
When violence is as widespread as marital violence, it can not continue to be believed to
be isolated. The majority of marital violence occurs in heterosexual couples of all social
classes. The heterosexual couple or the heterosexual family is a social institution that
reproduces the dominions present in the rest of society. Women have been raised since
childhood in the idea that they can not live without men. Their education is entirely
oriented towards the couple and the family, they are destined to take care of a man and a
family. This is one of the reasons why today more than 80% of part-time work concerns
women. On the contrary, men are driven from childhood to grow up without worrying about
domestic economy. When a woman and a man settle together they are not already in a
situation of equality since they have incorporated a whole series of sexist stereotypes.
Studies on the sharing of domestic tasks show the inequalities that still persist widely
in heterosexual couples: women work more than men at home and perform the most invisible
and least valued household tasks. Domestic work is a free work carried out by women that
is appropriated by men.
Domestic violence, whether psychological or physical, is part of this system of
exploitation of women. To take advantage of an individual, the farmer must destroy
self-esteem and convince him that exploitation is natural. In some cases exploitation
leads to violence. As long as women are regarded as dependent and inferior to men, men
will continue to use their power of domination against them.
In short, conjugal violence does not come from individual stories. It's not because it's
him, it's not because it's her. It's because it's a man, it's because it's a woman. Let us
ask the question: Who benefits from crime? To a system of exploitation of women by men.
This system is patriarchy.
VIOLENCE IN THE COUPLE
* In 2014, 118 women and 25 men were killed by their spouse or former spouse. * On average
each year, an estimated 223,000 women between the ages of 18 and 75 are victims of spousal
violence in its most serious forms (physical and / or sexual violence by their spouse or
ex-spouse). * 143,000 children live in a home where a woman has reported being physically
and / or sexually abused by her spouse or ex-spouse. * Over one year, from November 2014
to October 2015, 82,635 acts of violence per spouse or ex-spouse were recorded by the
security forces in metropolitan France. In 88% of the cases, the victim is a woman (72 873
facts).
SEXUAL VIOLENCE
* On average, an estimated 84,000 women between the ages of 18 and 75 are victims of rape
or attempted rape each year. In 90% of cases, the victim knows his aggressor. 10% of
victims report having filed a complaint. * In 2014, 765 men and 6 women were convicted of
rape on persons over 15 years of age.
Letter from the National Observatory of Violence to Women - November 2015
Are you a victim of domestic violence?
This self-test was carried out by the association Filactions . Obviously, each parameter
taken in isolation does not necessarily reveal a situation of violence. However, if you
answer yes 3 times or more, you are the victim of one or more forms of conjugal violence:
physical, moral, psychological and / or economic. So you can ask the associations for
help. It is based on the questionnaire for the Enveff survey (see article).
Over the past 12 months, did your spouse or friend:
1. prevented you from meeting or talking with friends or family members?
2. prevented you from talking to other men?
3. criticized, devalued what you were doing?
4. made unpleasant remarks about your physical appearance?
5. has imposed on you ways to dress, to style your hair or to behave in public?
6. Did not consider or despise your opinions, claimed to explain to you what you had to think?
A.In privacy;
B.to other persons.
7. demanded to know with whom and where you were?
8. stopped talking to you, totally refused to discuss?

We relay the call by the Algonquin Nation of Barriere Lake that struggle against a mining
project. Link to the original, here . ---- The Algonquin Nation of Barriere Lake has just
learned that the Quebec government may grant, from Monday, December 19, 2016, permits that
would enable the mining company Copper One to open mining roads and start mining boreholes
in full heart of their traditional territory, despite his disagreement repeatedly
expressed to the Government of Quebec in recent years. ---- In fact, the government had
cooperated with the Nation in 2011 by suspending the claims of the Copper One company, the
government reversed the decision earlier this year not even inform, consult or obtain the
consent of the nation it which is contrary to respect for the most basic Aboriginal rights
in Canada and abroad. This is also contrary to the respect of the negotiation process that
was underway since 2015 between the Barriere Lake Nation and the Government of Quebec for
an integrated co-management of land resources.
The Algonquin Nation of Barriere Lake is in favor of a responsible development of its
territory, particularly via intelligent forestry, some hydroelectric development, hunting,
fishing and other tourist activities, but it is totally opposed to mining, it considers
incompatible with its lifestyle and its development visions - particularly because of the
non-renewable nature of the resource and huge amounts of mining waste left behind for
ever, in the territory.
The heart of the problem also lies in the fact that the Mining Act of Quebec, despite its
reform in 2013, still does not respect the rights of Indigenous Nations in the field of
information, consultation and consent before granting claims mining and execution of
mineral exploration on the claimed territories.
Faced with this situation, the Algonquin Nation of Barriere Lake said now ready to
undertake all necessary actions to prevent mining drilling begin, including any form of
peaceful resistance in the field. Fearing the reactions of Copper One company, the police
and the Government of Quebec to face their actions, Algonquin Nation appeals to solidarity
and seeking the support of any person or organization for Quebec that the defense of
indigenous rights priority.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:
1. Call or send an email now to the departments responsible in order to signify their
