Thailand operate more than 200 Ukrainian armored vehicles including OPLOT MBT and Ukraine expressed appreciation to Thailand for understanding the situation in Ukraine for the delay in delivery.
Gen.Udomdej Minister of Defence, recently met with Gen. Stecenko Oleksandr, Deputy Director of the Ukrainian defense industry within the government UKROBORONPROM and Mr. Pavlo Bukin, director of state-owned enterprises of UKRSPECEXPORT. Both agencies are responsible for overseeing the research, development and production of military equipment in Ukraine including manufacturing, quality control and regulatory wheeled armored vehicles and tanks.
Ukraine confirmed to expedite the delivery of the remaining T-84 OPLOT to Thailand. Ukraine assures that the production quality control meet international standards. Ukraine will also continue to provide experience personal for training, deployment and maintenance for the OPLOT MBT to the staff of the Royal Thai Army.
In addition, both parties further agreed to develop cooperation in the defense industry, as well as joint cooperation in the maintenance of military equipment, assembly and production of repair parts , etc., which will help develop the potential of Thailand towards the goal of self-reliance based on the master plan for the development of the defense industry .
