THEATRE

TOLLER. Ernst Toller (1893-1939) was a German Jewish writer, close revolutionary socialist 
libertarians. In 1914, he enlisted in the army but was discharged for illness and is 
marked by the horrors he witnessed. It becomes an active anti-militarist propaganda. In 
1919, he participated in the Bavarian Soviet Republic alongside the anarchist Gustav 
Landauer, Erich Mühsam and Ret Marut (later B. Traven). He then spent five years in prison 
during which he wrote most of his works, including the play Hinkemann. This is the story 
of a man who returns from the war. It is emasculated, he lost his job, his wife away from 
him. It then becomes a freak, "a man bears." This play was performed at La Colline 
National Theater (Paris 20th) in April 2015. It was directed by and starring Christine 
Letailleur Stanislas Nordey.

PUBLICATIONS

CHRISTIANITY. Michel Keller discusses the religions at an angle 
"socio-historical-anthropological-political." More than half of the book is devoted to the 
religions of ancient Greece and Rome. Then it analyzes the birth of Christianity in the 
Roman Empire. Later, during the Middle Ages, the Christian church has contributed to the 
rise of capitalism. In appearance, it condemned the merchants but there has always been an 
understanding between Christianity and profit economy.

RICTUS. Jehan-Rictus (1867-1933) was a poet and chansonnier social. Near anarchists until 
1914, then he will militarists and monarchists positions. His poetry collections include 
The soliloquies of the poor and the popular heart, evoke love, suffering, death, work, the 
bistro ... They give voice to victims, excluded and marginalized. His tongue mixes the 
Boulogne and Picard talk Parisian slang. Philippe Oriol has written a biography of 
Jehan-Rictus. Moreover, from 1898 to 1933, Jehan-Rictus kept a daily diary. A first volume 
has just been published. It reads personal thoughts but also his views on the Dreyfus 
affair (it is for retrial) and the embarrassment of Paris due to the work of the World 
Expo and the Metro.

SCIENCE. Paul Feyerabend (1924-1994) was the most original philosopher of the twentieth 
century science. On Austrian origin and naturalized American, he has taught at many 
universities. His principal writings, Against Method and Farewell reason have made famous 
anarchist and his critical view of science. The tyranny of science is his latest book. It 
brings together a series of lectures (1992) provide a good overview of his thoughts: 
defense of the value of practical experience, rejection of excess theorizing, protest 
against a thinking that is based solely on science.

ZO AXA. Anarchist journalist Zo Axa (1864-1930), published in May 1891 the first issue of 
The Endehors. After the arrest of Ravachol and his companions, he launched a subscription 
to help families of detainees. For this reason, it is enclosed a month in the Mazas 
prison. Fearing further prosecution, he left for a long journey: London, Italy, Greece, 
the Ottoman Empire. Beginning in 1893, he was arrested in Jaffa in Palestine and returned 
to France where he will serve a sentence of 18 months imprisonment. It is this journey 
that tells in De Mazas in Jerusalem.

CINEMA

ON ROADS acratie. Françoise Jacques Arnoult and Pillet went to meet Martín Arnal Wall. 
Born in Angüés (Huesca, Aragon) in 1921, he worked as a farm servant from the age of 11 
years. In 1936, he returned to his native village to attend the agrarian community. 
Retirada and after passage through the concentration camps, he took refuge in the Tarn. He 
joined the Resistance which releases Albi and is part of guerrilla groups who carry out 
actions in Aragon until 1945. In October 2014, he was present and made a speech to the 
Spanish guerrilla Day in Santa Cruz de Moya (province Cuenca, Castilla-La Mancha).
On the paths of Acratie directed by Françoise and Jacques Arnoult Pillet. This film was 
screened in March 2015 in the Tarn and Montpellier.

ZINN. In his book A People's History of the United States (Agone, 2002), Howard Zinn 
(1922-2010) spoke of those whom the official story never mentions: slaves, Indians, 
deserters, textile workers, trade unionists and all those struggling to break their 
chains. The filmmakers were able to meet Howard Zinn in Boston. The first part was 
released in cinemas April 29, 2015, it is available on DVD. It was funded by a 
subscription. The other two parts will be partly financed with the proceeds of the foregoing.

SOLIDARITY

DOCUMENTATION CENTRE ANTI-AUTHORITATIVE. Several individuals have proposed the creation of 
an anti-authoritarian documentary Centre. It will be located in rural areas and will join 
the firm Maquis and Cravirola peasant collective, Minerva's side in the Herault. It will 
provide users more than 3,000 books, many DVDs, hundreds of brochures, 
anarcho-syndicalists archive documents, films on silver bracket and hardware for the 
project. All these documents are kept until now in various places in cartons. The room 
will be constructed of wood and will include a library, a reading room and a cinema. To 
finance this project, a subscription was launched.

BLACK AND RED. The Red and Black editions were created in January 2013. They have since 
published 12 books that speak of Reclus, the Spanish Revolution and anarchism in Latin 
America, the Occupy movement, Bakunin ... Six or seven titles are expected in 2015. A 
first title just released (see above). To help Black and red editions, a permanent 
subscription was launched. For 7 euros per month or 84 euros per year (checks made payable 
to the Red and Black Editions), one can become a member of Friends of Black and red books 
and receive the free newsletter.

Cronyism

BAM. Alternative Library Malakoff (BAM) opened on October 1, 2014. It is open on Saturdays 
from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and offers over 2,000 books, magazines and films to Friends 
and to local residents. She received donations, including CIRA. It is self-managed by 
about eight people. On Sundays, you would learn the stencils, second Tuesday a sewing 
workshop is organized. Also on the program: screenings, debates, critical reading 
workshop, games ...

SALVATION!

PHILIPPE COUTANT. Born in 1952, Philippe Coutant died on 28 February 2014. In the 1990s, 
he was active in Scalp in Nantes. In 1995 he participated in the founding of the CNT in 
this city. In recent years, he was active in the struggle against the airport in 
Notre-Dame-des-Landes. He hosted a website (1libertaire.free.fr) and a radio show on 
alternating. It also held a infokiosk. He is the author of two books published by Editions 
of Greneraie: Subject and contemporary capitalism (2011, 99 pages, 5 euros) and Manage 
Your Life (178 pages, 10 euros).
