(en) France, Alternative Libertaire AL #243 - Solidarity with Fouad Harjane: Against judicial harassment (fr, pt)

The judicial proceedings against the CPE after the militant Fouad Harjane runs its course,
but solidarity remains strong: occupation of the direction of the station Lorraine and
rallies in many cities in France and even abroad. What turn up the heat for the final
stage of the trial on November 14. ---- This is a judicial persecution that has lasted
eight years but the epilogue is close: one activist condemned for an act of mass
self-locking and during the fight (victory) against the CPE in 2006 (with 800 others),
Fouad Harjane has been designated for example, to pay 40,000 euros in damages to the SNCF.
Targeted repression is a strong signal to the social and labor movement. Repressing so, it
is also to discourage any initiative that aims to fight to defend social justice. SUD-Rail
Metz / Nancy also noted that during the last war, in June to train again the leaders
attempted to "criminalize trade union opposition by offering the presence of bailiffs or
soliciting several brigades of riot police to monitor even cause the railroad strike. "
September 12 was therefore held an appeal hearing at the High Court of Metz, and rally
support before it consists of a hundred people, including the principal signatories of the
appeal were represented (CNT Of course, AL, NPA, unions SUD, and to a lesser extent... LO
and CGT). And finally, the SNCF has indicated that it was not prepared to defend itself on
the merits of the case and at his request the hearing is adjourned to November 14, 2014.
The judge said it was the last report regarding the admissibility of the appeal.

Direct action against the SNCF

After the hearing, the regional direction of the station was occupied by all the people
who were in court for nearly two hours, forcing (after some hesitation) the director to
send a fax to Guillaume Pepy (President SNCF) stating that we currently occupied places
and demanding the withdrawal of the complaint against Fouad. Direct collective action was
therefore a relative success and a way to raise a little more pressure before the crucial
hearing on November 14! For the occasion, people had made the trip from Marseille, Lille,
Paris... rallies support were held in Perpignan, Besancon, Nimes, Toulouse, Dijon... and
abroad: at the Embassy of France in Warsaw (Poland) and the Consulate of France in Oran
(Algeria). This was followed by a collective return to the local CNT for a small friendly
barbecue followed by a concert. The opportunity to relax a little and discuss the
following, because for Nov. 14 will require preparation well in advance will prepare now
and increased mobilization in Metz, as elsewhere in France and abroad! Because an attack
against one or one of us is an attack against all of us, we demand the release of Fouad
Harjane and the withdrawal of the complaint from the train! But beyond this one case, it
is obviously defend amnesty for all and all activists condemned es in the context of
social struggles. Appointment Nov. 14 to know!
