(en) Portugal, Solidarity with workers trapped in Argentina (pt)

Following a strike by oil workers 20 days in 2006, Las Heras, the judiciary ordered the
arrest of several workers. These reacted manifesting with the municipality and were
violently repressed. In confused circumstances, he died a police officer. ---- There
followed a fierce crackdown on workers and the public; the town of Las Heras was
militarized, brought up the curfew and several people were persecuted, imprisoned and
tortured. ---- Although the only thing proven at trial in December 2013 have been the
torture suffered by workers at the hands of police, four workers were sentenced to life
imprisonment and another six to five years in prison for alleged aggravated coercion,
injury and murder of a police. ---- Criminalize the struggles of workers is common in
Argentina and around the place where people organize to fight for a better life, free from
the heavy yoke of exploitation, but we believe that solidarity among the exploited and
oppressed will always be stronger than any repression!

Take the cause of these workers as ours, for what is likely to happen to one, is likely to
happen at all.

Immediate acquittal of workers from Las Heras!
