Requirements:
Honours Degree or LLB. Experience in civil and/or criminal litigation and knowledge of such required processes and procedures will be an advantage. Special requirements (skills needed): Knowledge of Government Policies, Departmental Policy, Departmental Decisions and Activities as well as on the Wider Intra-Departmental Activities in Government. Conceptual; thinking-, problem solving-, written and verbal communication-, computer-, leadership-, strategic analysis-, policy analysis-, planning-, report writing- and presentation skills. A valid drivers’ licence is required.

Duties:
Conducting, analysing, interpreting and advising on research that will provide information and case law relevant to the legal matter at hand. Draft and advice on legal documents that provide clear motivation/justification for a particular position pertaining to the case, also proposing the approach to be followed to ensure success in this regard. Advice the client on possible courses of action during the consultation process, in relation to legal entitlements and clients instructions. Document interview and all advice given during legal consultation in writing. Ensure that imposition of an administrative fine is subject to compliance to rules relating to a fair legal administrative action. Liaison with NPA when offenders elect to be tried in court. Draft statements for any competent court setting forth the alleged offence and the amount of the administrative fine payable.
