Requirements:
A B Degree/Diploma in Political Sciences, Public Management and Administration or an NQF level 6 qualification in the related fields with 2 - 3 years' experience in a governance intergovernmental relations environment
1-2 years' experience must be in supervisory position
Understanding of the various Portfolio and Cabinet Committees
Understanding of all departmental legislation as well as Human Resources legislation and prescripts
Knowledge of Foreign policies
Knowledge of NEPAD, SADC, sanctions and mechanisms, and understanding of the Intergovernmental Relations framework
A valid driver's licence.

Duties:
The successful candidate will be responsible for, amongst others the following specific tasks:
Coordinate and provide comprehensive and timely responses to the department on Parliamentary Questions, Cabinet Memos and Ministerial Enquiries
Updating the electronic tracing system of parliamentary and Ministerial enquiries and responses
Assist in the preparation of comprehensive progress reports on Parliamentary Questions, Cabinet Memos and Ministerial Enquiries
Prepare minutes emanating from Cabinet committees
Ensure the maintenance and development of follow-up program of action on decision taken on Cabinet Minutes, Cabinet Committees and Portfolio Committees that are relevant to the department
Develop and implementation of policy andprocedure, directive acts and regulations
Develop and review communications policies and code of practice for the directorate
Implement governance processes, frameworks and procedures
Ensure compliance with all audit requirements, quality and risk management frameworks, standards and procedures
Monitor and ensure compliance with legislation, regulations and DHA policies and procedures
Plan the production of annual reports in line with corporate strategy
Manage resources (Physical and Human)
Monitor and report on the utilization of equipments
Co-ordinate memorandum of understanding, service level agreements and expenditure review
Ensure capacity and development of staff
Enhance and maintain employee motivation and cultivate a culture of performance management
Ensure that the Division is adequately staffed
Evaluate and monitor performance and appraisal of employees
