Requirements:
An appropriate three year Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management or equivalent qualification and relevant experience. Ability to interpret legislation and develop policies, guidelines and templates on a national level. Good understanding of environmental legislation specifically the National Environmental Management Act, Act 62 of 2009 and its environment impact assessment regulations. Proven project management and administrative skills. Experience in the design, development and implementation of environmental guidelines and tools/instruments is an added advantage. Advanced computer literacy and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) skills. Sound interpersonal skills. Good planning and organizational skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. A valid driver’s license.

Duties:
Develop the environmental impact management tools/instruments, including policies, guidelines, GIS and templates on a national level and assist provincial environmental authorities in identifying critical tools/instruments to be developed for environmental impact management; prioritise, and develop sectorial environmental management programmes in the integrated environmental management; review and update existing integrated environmental management templates; use GIS to identify environmental sensitive layers for environmental management; coordinate and manage reference groups for the development and implementation of tools/instruments, market and distribute developed tools/instruments and facilitate necessary training and support on the use thereof, undertake research and on trends and changes in environmental impact management.
