Salary: R872 214 per annum. All-inclusive flexible remuneration package consisting of a basic salary of 70% and a 30% flexible portion structured according to personal needs). The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance agreement. (Level 14).
Requirements:
3 or 4 year tertiary degree in economics or econometrics - A post-graduate degree in Economics would be an added advantage - Thorough understanding of public policy development and implementation - knowledge of government policies and processes 3-5 years relevant experience in management position with proven managerial skills. - Good writing and communication skills and an ability to work under pressure. Knowledge and understanding of policy analysis, formulation and interpretation.
Duties:
Promote local procurement by organs of state and private enterprises. - Monitor public procurement and identify opportunities to improve local procurement and procurement from SMMEs/BBBEE. - Develop guidelines for linking local procurement with performance and equity of enterprise. - Develop a methodology to assess economic development impact of state spending - Conduct economic development impact assessment on budget submissions and advise thereon. - Disseminate the impact assessment methodology within the State.
