Requirements:
A National Diploma / Degree in Mining / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification and a Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency (MMC) / Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) coupled with extensive senior manager experience.

PLUS the following key competencies: Knowledge of: Mine Health and Safety Regulations Health risk assessment techniques Mining environment, both big and small, surface and underground, research and research methodology techniques Relevant Public Service Regulations Regional and sector challenges Guidelines issued by the Chief Inspector of Mine Demonstrable management and leadership knowledge and application Advanced Project Management Skills: Management of people and Finance Report writing Skills Inspecting Project and Programme Management Skills Interpersonal and communication skills Strategic Leadership Skills Communication Must be able to communicate at operational and Strategic levels Creativity Must be innovative in thinking and approach

Duties:
Manage regions Serve as nodal point for regions Promote Mine health and safety Oversee regional operations Lead high level interventions (inspections, investigations, etc.) Manage mine health and safety risks (track and identify trends) ensure pro-active interventions are in place
