Chronicles of alienated labor, by Aline Torterat, occupational physician " It can not be
worse , "Fabienne [ 1 ], a caregiver in a nursing home ---- I was arrested one month
compared to the suffering at work. I am a nursing assistant in a nursing home for
Alzheimer's. I am in a unit of 30 residents. It is five in the morning and four in the
afternoon, still three aides and one or two AMP. I run all the time, so there are watching
me run and do the bare minimum. The framing can see it but said nothing. So the day I saw
this abandoned its resident sleepwear contaminated stool because she was too opponent to
the toilet, I have not supported. Obviously, that day she had not eaten lunch. No wonder
the smell! And when her daughter arrived, he was forbidden to enter the room of his
mother. I explained to the girl and she came with me to the toilet of his mother. And
during that time there waiting in the sofa!
The girl complained to the manager who asked me to write down what had happened. I told
everything! After colleagues who take it easy I have not spoken to, even the caregiver
with whom I was friend and who is pregnant. Obviously, it was a bit slow pace, but it was
because of her pregnancy. In fact, it speaks to me anymore since she knows that I'm also
pregnant. This is probably jealousy. I got sick. When I returned to work, the framework
reproached me for not getting along with my colleagues! The irony! It is always so tense
with colleagues! Perhaps because of what I told the manager ... In this structure, if you
have a minimum of dedication, you do not stay! So it's decided, after my birth, I'm
looking for work in another nursing home. It can not be worse ...
