Happy Tuesday! I can't believe Thanksgiving is just two days away! November has completely flown by! Today we are joining our blogging friends for the Family Room part of our Holiday Farmhouse Series! We shared some photos of ours last week (don't forget there's still time to enter the ScentsCicles $3000 Dream Tree Giveaway!) but today we are back with more images of this room from a few more angles.

We stuck with the same gold, cream and chocolate colored theme that we have in here the last several Christmases. I like the traditional feel it has and we can use all of the items we already own and just mix things up a little bit. In fact, I'm pretty certain there's not one single item in here that we bought for this Christmas.

We used a bunch of feathers as our tree topper this year:

Decorating Our Christmas Tree and a $3000 DREAM TREE GIVEAWAY With ScentSicles

We are so excited to be partnering with Enviroscents ScentSicles today for this post! I actually used these ScentSicles last year and absolutely positively loved them. In fact after buying my first pack last year I loved them so much I went back and bought several other scents. The cinnamon and pine are my personal favorites! So when we had the opportunity to join them for a $3000 DREAM TREE GIVEAWAY this Christmas we jumped at the chance!

Although all of my childhood Christmas tree memories involve riding a horse pulled carriage out to my uncle's New England Christmas tree farm and cutting our family tree each year this isn't something we've been able to do in our family because it's not practical due to how long we keep our tree up and how much we are gone. We bought our first faux tree right before Lillie turned one and haven't looked back! The first year or two it was a little strange to get used to but now I absolutely LOVE how practical it is for us having a faux one and am always amazed at how realistic they look now! The one thing that was always missing for me though until last year was the smell. Even though I had fallen in love with having a faux one I still missed the smell that came with a real one. So when I discovered that by hanging a few of these little sticks on the tree the whole room was filled with the smell of a real tree I was ecstatic! The best of both worlds!

They have little holes on the top of them so you can hang them like an ornament if you want, but I always just kind of tuck mine in.

For the rest of our tree I went with a really really simple look this year and just used our gold, chocolate and copper colored ornaments and some feathers on top but I have to say I think this is my favorite tree yet. One little tip I learned years ago was that if you cluster ornaments together it really can make an impact. I usually hook three or so together and then hang them that way and love the way they kind of glisten off each other. And then on the top I clustered pheasant feathers for the finishing touch.

We also added some ScentsCicles to our wreaths in the dining room:

And I also sprinkled them in with some real cinnamon sticks that I've had for years that have long since lost their scent. I think the cinnamon ones are my favorite! (I'll be sharing some images of this hot cocoa set up next week!)

Some Downton Abbey Inspired Pillows for our Study

Earlier this summer our friends over at our sponsor. Heritage Lace asked us if there were any items in their new line that we might be interested in. The second I saw some of their Downton Abbey inspired home decor I got excited. Like pretty much everyone female I know, I am a HUGE Downton fan and was so sad when it ended. I saw these Hunt Club pillows and thought they were the perfect subtle way to add some Downton into to our study. The herringbone pattern, wood buttons and overall masculine feel of them went perfectly with the rest of the room!

I love the subtle Downton Abbey logo and label. It's the perfect finishing touch!

We added this lumbar pillow with the mix of the houndstooth pattern with the herringbone pattern to our sofa and love how it reflects the pillows in the chairs.

And we also have some more items like this gorgeous wood tray and these beautiful crocheted napkins that I can't wait to share more images of this weekend!
