if you're wondering about the title/caption, the past couple weeks have been a boon, a treasure find, for http://truquetructruk.tumblr.com/ as that asshole has found that I've posted dozens of cool things, and he's reposted them without a single credit. Without a credit to me, as he still credits many other websites for what he borrows from them
I'm just letting him know it's not going unnoticed, and as much as he gets from me, I ought to get a special award from him for supplying him like a damn automotive dope dealer giving free crack to a crack head
Cubscout Camp
Tucker was looking forward to cub scout camp for a week and it did not disappoint. He had a blast. Some of the pictures other leaders took and some are from the day Bob went with Tucker.
I thought their skit was pretty funny.

On the last day we came for a picnic dinner and the closing awards.

Tucker and the Piano
Tucker has really taken off on the piano. I think this is something he is naturally good at. His teacher has even mentioned before that he learns the songs quicker than many of her students do. I really hope he sticks with it and becomes really good. Piano is something I want to be better at. I kind of stopped practicing since Calista was born.
Anyway, once he finished his level his teacher asked him if he would let her video him playing them so he can be a demo for the other students. The people who make the curriculum asked her to find a student to do this for them to show their students and she picked Tucker. She thinks the Simply Music program people are going to use his videos. Here is the link to the songs he's been working on for it. He recorded them all on one night.
He memorized all the songs.
Tucker also had his last piano recital for a while.
We celebrated with a little frozen yogurt.
Tucker's Birthday
Tucker had his whole birthday planned out. First we decorated his bedroom door and chair. For breakfast we had cinnamon rolls, once that was done we headed to the park. After the park we went to the library and then stopped Taco Bell for lunch. We then came home and took a break, this was the hardest part for him. I told him he had to wait for dad to get home before we could do any presents. Once Bob came home he opened presents, then we ate Papa Murphys for dinner and had cake. He finished off the night by going to cub scouts.
I decided to finally let Tucker read Harry Potter. He has been begging for a while but I wanted him to wait. I really wanted him to be able to read it easily so he could enjoy it as much as I did when I read it. I also wanted him to wait because the series gets kind of dark and goes a little into teen dating and I just didn't think he needed that until he was a bit older. I'll probably let him read the first two and then I might make him wait for the third.
Bob made Tucker this cool balance board. All the kids have been loving playing on it.
Tucker requested a reese's ice cream cake. It turned out way too delicious for me to not eat giant servings of.
I love having the kids pick out presents for their siblings, even if it means a trip to the dollar store or Good Will to find gifts.

Tucker's Birthday Photography
Tucker has entered the world of double digits, there is no going back for him now. I can't believe that we are most likely past half way done raising him. In less than the amount of time we've had with him he could be out on his own at college or serving a mission. I feel the pressure to do a good job in the little amount of time we have left before he "grows up."
Tucker likes to get everything done as quickly as possible. I often don't know why because we will have nothing else planned for once he is done. Speed seems to be way more important to him than doing an quality job.
Whenever Tucker thinks of something he is very excited about it and wants to tell everyone immediately. He thinks it is so cool he doesn't realize that he is interrupting everyone else.
Tucker loves TV, computer games, and Wii games. I have to really limit the amount he is allowed because if I didn't I think he would never stop.
Tucker likes Ninjago, legos, reading, baking, and anything spy related.
Tucker is pretty responsible. He can be forgetful and gets sidetracked extremely easily, but I can trust him to be safe and make good decisions.
He is in general a nice guy. I don't think he every intentionally would hurt or be mean to someone.
Tucker is great at making friends. Almost every time we go to the park he makes a new friend. He isn't afraid to talk to or play with people he hasn't met before.
Tucker is a huge help around the house! He easily does the most cleaning up and in general chores. Probably partly because he is the oldest and most capable, partly because he is homeschooled, and partly because of his personality. I think he knows that it is easier to take things out to the recycle when I ask than it is to argue about it.
Tucker also continues to want the most attention out of all the kids. He seems to think I need to be talking to him or listening to him 24 hours a day. That can get tiring because I like to have more space and alone time then he ever wants me or Bob to have.
Although Tucker does talk back he isn't as defiant as our other children. He might argue if he doesn't do what we want but he argues while he is doing it. That doesn't sound great but it really is so much nicer than when the kids just flat out refuse.
Tucker is very easy to motivate with rewards. If he has a goal with any sort of reward he does really well.
I'm really glad he is in our family.
Pinewood Derby
Every year the pinewood derby seems to be a big deal at our house. This year they said siblings could make cars and unofficially race them if they want. I was really on the fence if we should do that or not because we are so busy but Bob thought it was a great idea. He asked the kids who wanted to make them and of course they all did. So Bob and I ended up helping the kids make four cars.
Bob was finishing up making his CNC machine so he "helped" the kids by cutting out their cars on it. The kids got to design their cars on the computer and then watch the machine cut them out. They then got to sand and paint them.
Tucker's car. His is the only one we used the official pinewood derby kit to make. The rest were made out of wood we had around the house.
Tucker got first place! There was a mixup with the scores and a glitch in the computer so we first thought he got second, which was fine. Once everything was recalculated we realized that Tucker got first in the Bears and first overall. He was thrilled and got to go to districts. I thought I might be having the baby around that time and wouldn't go. Unfortunately, districts have came and gone and I'm still pregnant.
Tucker was so excited to race at districts. He didn't place but I was really happy with how he managed to keep a good attitude the entire time. It was long for everyone else and the other kids were getting restless.
We have one more year of the pinewood derby and then a break for a few years until Leon turns 8.
