A Gallery Wall For Our New Entryway and Upstairs Hallway

A few weeks ago I shared some pictures of our upstairs hallway with the progress we had made so far and today I am going to share it now that it is basically finished! I am going to switch out the shades on the lamps for either cream or possibly black ones once I find ones in this size and then I may switch things up a bit seasonally but otherwise it is finished. (I did play around with the bookends and the bottom shelf a little bit as I was taking photos which is why they look a little bit different in some of the pics - the picture above is how I ended up leaving it).

My favorite thing we did up here was to add a gallery wall going up the stairs and then another set of six photos above the console table. For these pictures I worked with Framebridge and it was absolutely the best experience. It took me forever to decide which pictures I wanted to use but once that was finished I uploaded and ordered them all and they arrived sooooooo quickly. I was especially impressed with the way that they were packaged - they were so secure and they also each included the appropriately sized picture hanger.

The frames themselves are beautifully detailed and feel very high end and the matting was perfect and I was thrilled with the photo quality. Not only do they frame pictures they also will frame any of your artwork as well, or even a jersey! I am so impressed with their service and can't wait to order from them again!  If you use the code dearlillie15 you can get 15% off your first order from now through May 30th!

I was torn between three different frame choices - the Bolton, the Richmond and the Newport, but ultimately decided on the Newport because I thought the color of that would work well with the frames on the paintings we have in our entryway. I love the classic, timeless feel that they have.

Over here you can see the gallery wall on the stairs. I used the same frames but mixed up the sizing a little bit over on this wall. I quickly realized it was going to be rather tricky to photograph the stairs because of the railing so sorry about all of the weird angles.

This time I played around on my computer first to get the layout right and then once I found a layout I liked I ordered the correct number of frames in the corresponding sizes. That part was a little tricky to get right but I am glad I did it this way because it made hanging them so much easier!

Another thing we did in here was switch out the chandelier. I initially didn't want to use any light fixtures that we had used in our last house here but I kept coming back to this one for this space and finally decided just to pull the trigger on it. I went with the smaller size in our last house but this house needed the large size.

I need to get a wider angle lens to really be able to show this but here's the best I could do so you can see how the entryway kind of ties together.

And here are some wide angle shots:

Here's a little peek into our master bedroom. We've switched some things up in there. Once I have time to finish editing those pictures I will have a post with those changes.

And here is the linen closet that is up in that hallway as well:

Deck the Halls Christmas Home Tour - Entryway at Bluestone Hill

Welcome to the Deck the Halls Christmas Home Tour, hosted by Decor Gold Designs and Randi Garrett Design! We are excited to join with so many talented bloggers to bring you some Christmas inspiration throughout the house!

Today we are sharing our entryways. Welcome, readers joining us from over at Dimples and Tangles

I love that the first thing we see when we open our front door is this piece of artwork by DeAnn. Since we already had the patterned wallpaper as a backdrop, I didn't want to do anything too busy that would compete with it, so I just draped some white pine garland from Home Depot around it and set some gift wrapped boxes on the bench.

I found these skis second-hand several weeks ago for $15!

As I mentioned a couple weeks ago, I'm in love with this wreath from Lynch Creek Farm. More than two weeks after it arrived, it still looks great!

As I learned from Jenni, when in doubt, just stick some greenery in it! :)

I hope you enjoyed seeing our entryway dressed up for Christmas! And now head on over to visit Courtney of French Country Cottage and see what she did with her beautiful home!
