Manchester Solidarity Federation held a picket outside the Polish Consulate in Manchester
today. Our picket was in solidarity with self-organised Polish postal workers who have
been involved in a two year campaign aimed at improving pay and conditions and are being
supported by our Polish IWA sister-section the ZSP union. ---- Basic freedom of speech is
under attack in Poland, especially for workers. The state-controlled Post Office is trying
to criminalize workers who speak out about their working conditions. Protests by postal
workers have led to harassment, threats against them and the unfair dismissal of three
organisers: Klaudiusz Wieczorek, Rafal Czerski, and Zbigniew Trochimiak. In addition, the
state has brought a series of bogus criminal cases against members of our sister union,
the ZSP-IWA. ---- Stop state repression of workers now! ---- An injury to one is an injury
to all!

Advanced union deserts, the problem of generational renewal, lack of ideal in many
activists ... Wrestling unionism is in bad shape, and the yellow unionism benefits to gain
ground by dint of clientelism and collaboration with the employers. We are not going to
remedy this in a snap of fingers, but by a long-term work, at the base, which will pay in
local struggles. And doubly paying in case of global recovery of the class struggle. In
parallel, it is necessary to make live the project of a libertarian communist alternative
to the current society. ---- The priority is to breathe life into local union unions,
beyond the legal services and support for small business delegates. It is a question of
coordinating trade union activity in a pool of employment, but also of taking over what
was the strength of the first labor exchanges: the activities of trade union training,
popular education and support for the struggles on the labor market. whole social field
(housing, consumption ...).
On these subjects and many others, associations exist and play a significant role, some of
which define themselves as " citizens " and / or " popular education ". The
revolutionary syndicalism of the XXI th century must find the form and means of inserting
them into the class dimension it carries. This, without questioning their
self-organization, their autonomy of decision and action ... The balance is not obvious
but it is essential.
The achievements of revolutionary syndicalism are useful in responding to the new
challenges posed by successively imposed regressions. Trade union democracy, direct
democracy, rotation of mandates, unitary approach, direct action refusing any method to
lead to the blockage of the production and circulation of goods: pickets, sabotage, strike
of zeal ...
Paradoxically, the disintegration of the trade union fabric clears horizons for a return
to the sources and opens exciting perspectives of reconstruction, partially liberated from
the crushing weight of the old traditional political apparatuses.
What will change everyday
The law now imposes parity between men and women in the composition of lists for
professional elections. It is harmful that it is the law that defines in part how union
members must choose their representatives ... but it is an opportunity for women to
establish themselves in a union world still very masculine.
The inversion of the hierarchy of standards will place a heavy burden on union delegates,
since it is to them that the employers will propose to sign derogatory agreements ;
likewise for the elected members of the social and economic committees (ESC), where these
will be created. Trade union structures will have to be very vigilant to help DSs and
elected officials resist blackmail that bosses will not fail to exercise, including
manipulating part of the employees.
For the eight accused of Goodyers, October 20, 2016.
The task of revolutionaries today revolves around a few priority issues:
1. Offensive working practices
In 2017, the police pressure on the demonstrations was less violent than in 2016. But the
repression against union actions that go beyond the framework remains strong. The
organization of solidarity with the victims is one thing, but there is a stake in
maintaining offensive working practices where the trade union leadership is tempted by
prudence.
2. Use existing tools
Defending existing union tools, as means of resistance of the working class, is necessary
from a practical point of view, to limit the social breakage, even to win over claims. It
is also so in the context of the social war that is waged: the working class must keep its
self-organizing capacities. This does not excuse a criticism of the functioning of these
tools. While the creation of the CSE that makes DP, CE and CHSCT disappear is a defeat of
our camp but, objectively, how many activists spend an incredible time in meetings without
interest, in the sense that they do not allow to build the least collective action ?
3. Restore confidence in collective action
It is necessary to build basic trade union collectives wherever possible. This refers to
the debates on interprofessional union work (to allow these implementations in many cases)
; self-management and democratic practices in everyday life (to contribute to their
appropriation by the mass of workers) ; the assumption of immediate demands and the
battles to be fought to satisfy them (to restore confidence in collective action) ; the
priorities to be given to trade union training and information, the contents and forms of
which must be constantly redesigned to meet the needs (to encourage the renewal and
strengthening of activists, building on the strengths already available).
4. Dare to talk to the union members
We must succeed in stimulating in the militant collectives debates associating the maximum
number of union members on the future of the common class tool of trade unionism: unity,
unification, taking into account and autonomy of the social movements, affirmation of the
political role of trade unionism, etc. In the same way, we must highlight and debate the
alternatives that can be built in the face of the capitalist organization of work. All
this, taking care to start from concrete situations, so as not to make discussions between
specialists.
5. not be satisfied with the minority action
We must remain available to any initiative, without considering that everything is
positive. Organizing minority actions is obviously not forbidden ; but it can become
counterproductive when the militant inter-self becomes the alpha and the omega and / or a
mythical radicalism replaces the construction of true power relations favorable to our
social class, capable of leading to radical transformation of society, a revolution.
Likewise, the goal of the general renewable (inter) national strike remains and we are
working on it ; but to make it the only valid action is clearly counter-productive if it
is to lead to failure and discouragement.
6. An organization for libertarian communism
Clearly show the need to build a revolutionary organization among the workers, with
political compass the overthrow of capitalist society by the general strike, and the
self-management of production. Far from wanting to save trade unionism at all costs, it is
a question of working, in the current historical phase, to maintain the collective
organizing capacities of the workers, in a revolutionary perspective affirmed through the
concrete priorities that we we give.

Kendal Breizh was the war name of the international volunteer Olivier L., a libertarian
and revolutionary activist breton party to join in the summer of 2017 Kurdish forces at
rojava and fight against the Islamic State in raqqa and deir ezzor. ---- The Libertarian
and revolutionary ideals of kendal breizh had led him to take interest in the political
experience of the rojava, and then to engage with the Kurdish forces and their allies
(Arabs, yézidis...). He shared with them some anti - Imperialist, anti-fascist,
anti-sexist, ecological and a libertarian municipalisme, respecting the right of all
peoples to master their fate. ---- After taking part in the liberation of raqqa and the
lower euphrate valley, Kendal breizh volunteered on 20 January, with other
internationalistes, for the defence of the canton of afrin attacked by Turkish forces and
Its Proxy Proxy. (Al-Qaeda and militants of the Islamic State).
On 18 February, the command of the people's defence units (YPG) announced the death in the

Given the confusion that is being generated - in some cases interestingly - with the
different calls for mobilization registered for March 8, the General Confederation of
Labor of the Basque Country CGT-LKN wants to make clear the following: ---- The CGT has
registered with the Ministry of Employment and Social Security the General Strike of 24
hours on March 8 for ALL the State in accordance with the RD Law 17/1977 for what is a
totally legal Strike; It is a call made at the request of the Feminist Movement and of
which the rest of the organizing organizations in their very different variants are aware.
---- CGT-LKN in the Basque Autonomous Community in turn, registered on February 20 the
notice of General Strike for March 8, leaving no room in its legality and opportunity.
On February 27 we received from the Government Delegation in the Autonomous Community of
the Basque Country, the Order of February 27, 2018 of the Minister of Labor and Justices,
decreeing the minimum essential services to the community that have been to lend during
the strike on March 8.
The General Strike is considered as Labor Strike (calling the working class), Care Strike
(evidencing the overload and invisibility in domestic work and care), Consumer Strike
(minimize the light, gas, shopping, restaurants , ..) and Student Strike (with the support
of most student organizations).
The objective is to "stop life in its entirety" and make visible the leading role that
women have in the life cycle. The spurious and petty interests of some organizations and
information media making this call invisible, giving unique prominence to organizations
that are doing a disservice to working women with symbolic and ineffective strikes,
trying to avoid any and make the day of struggle difficult that day with a posture of
submission very close to the interests of the employers and away from the original
convocation of the Feminist Movement.
We must remember that one of the issues that have made our land great is acceptance of
diversity, where all opinions and ways of understanding society have been accepted and
have allowed us all to feel comfortable sharing and breathing the same air.
From CGT-LKN, we call to participate and support all the mobilizations planned by the
Feminist Movement for March 8th.

During the last months, Russian secret services have arrested several anarchists and
antifascists in Penza and Saint-Petersburg cities. They were accused of conspiring to
organize a "terrorist organization". The arrested were tortured with electric cables and
shockers for many hours, brutally beaten without care whether hard damage is made and
whether visible traces of beating are left. The officers humiliated our arrested comrades.
They tried to force them to testify against themselves and against each other. These true
Gestapo actions of Russian FSB secret service can evoke only vigorous protest from every
honest person. ---- The international solidarity action week on February 7-12 exposed wide
reaction of the anarchist movement worldwide to these repressions and made considerable
media effect in Russia. But it seems to be not enough to overcome the situation. Very
soon, it became known that some of arrested anarchists were tortured and intimidated
again. The FSB officers demanded that they stop participating in the campaign of
resistance against tortures and repressions. Moreover, after solidarity actions took place
in Russia, the police launched repressions against those who took these actions. Our
comrades were prosecuted in Moscow and Chelyabinsk. Anarchists in Chelyabinsk were again
tortured with electricity by the police, while being accused of "hooliganism" (!).
Simultaneously with the arrests in Saint-Petersburg, FSB raids and arrests against
anarchists were made in the Crimea.
It is necessary to continue and strengthen the campaign of solidarity to force Russian
authorities to end tortures and political repressions. The best day for new actions is
March 18: the day of presidential elections in Russia. In this day, the ruling regime is
the most vulnerable and the eyes of the world will be turned to the situation in our country.
We urgently and desperately call to all anarchist, leftist, antifascist and democratic
groups and communities all over the world to organize actions of protest and resistance of
any kind against tortures and repressions in Russia: by the embassies, consulates and
other official offices of Russian Federation in your countries.
Our slogans are
FSB is the main terrorist!
Your electricity won't kill our ideas!
Freedom for Russian anarchists and antifascists!

The Anarchist Federation's sister organisation in Argentina, the Federación Libertaria
Argentina (FLA-IFA) had called for protests against the Argentinian government and the
international clothing company Benetton. This call was made in response to state
repression and killings related to seizures of land of the Mapuche indigenous people,
including young anarchists and activists Santiago Maldonado and Rafael Nahuel. A week of
action 29th January to 4th February 2018 was organised across the member federations of
IFA, the International of Anarchist Federations of which AF is a member. Actions took
place in Germany, Greece and Italy, as well as Argentina and reported on in the anarchist
press and social media. ---- In the UK Anarchist Federation members in South Wales,
Bristol, and Cheshire held demonstrations. Primarily outside House of Fraser stores, as in
many cities they are the only shop to stock Benetton products. These actions have also led
to us forging links with Mapuche activists in the UK, and we hope to build for more
actions with them.

This goes back to 1910, when an international conference of socialist women decided that
'women the world over set aside a particular day each year to remember women and their
struggles.' ---- The next year it was celebrated in Austria, Denmark, Germany and
Switzerland where over one million women and men attended rallies. In addition to the
right to vote, they demanded the right to have a job outside the home, to vocational
training and to an end to discrimination. Over the following years celebrations spread
around the world, with trade unions, socialists and anarchists being the organisers. ----
In 1913, the date was fixed as March 8th to commemorate an important strike by women
clothing workers in New York ---- Unfortunately, recent years have seen the ideas behind
March 8th being played down and replaced with a meaningless celebration of ‘women'. It's
become just another photo opportunity for female politicians, just another greeting card
from Hallmark. Another empty event which does nothing to remind us that much of what we
enjoy today had to be fought for, and fought for by ‘ordinary' women.
We have no desire to celebrate the likes of Joan Bruton, Arlene Foster or Hilary Clinton.
The women we are inspired by are those ordinary women like ourselves, those who have
proved that we can change our world.
We remember the telephonists who went on strike for equal pay, the Dunnes Stores workers
who went on strike in support of the anti-apartheid struggle when one was sacked for
supporting a trade union boycott of South African produce. We remember the women who have
campaigned for contraception and we join with those who are still fighting for abortion
rights, particularly here in Ireland as we campaign to repeal the hated 8th amendment.
International Women's Day is the story of ordinary women as makers of history.
