This week, we're highlighting the desperate story of refugees and asylum seekers stuck in limbo on Greece's picturesque islands. And the situation is getting worse for women and girls.
  • HRW investigations in refugee camps on the Greek islands have revealed a dangerous situation: overcrowded and fetid conditions, sexual harassment, and violence.
  • But thousands remain trapped on the islands by a joint Greek-European Union policy that won't let asylum seekers reach the mainland.
  • No one should be stuck in such dire conditions. We've launched a campaign to ensure the Greek government protects vulnerable migrants and refugees by allowing them to leave the islands. Join our call.
