Dear friends,

Look into the eyes of these children. At such a young age, they have witnessed despicable atrocities.

The Myanmar military has gunned down Rohingya children like them, torched their homes, and forced families to flee for their lives and take shelter in overcrowded camps where refugees are sometimes in danger.

The military’s ethnic cleansing campaign is continuing its disastrous march. Just last month, Amnesty uncovered tragic stories of forced starvation, abductions and looting of property that are still forcing families to flee.

Because of supporters like you, Amnesty crisis investigators were able to sound the alarm when the Myanmar military launched these vicious attacks. And together, we have committed to uncovering the truth — to document the powerful stories of persecuted people and share them with the world.

Because their stories show that inaction is never an option — make a donation today, and you will become an honorary part of our crisis investigations team.

We depend on donors like you to fund our critical research and emergency work. Without you, we can’t be there first. Without you, we can’t stay until the crisis is resolved. Without you, their stories will not be amplified.

Amnesty has been active on Myanmar for years. As soon as the situation started to escalate, our local knowledge and expertise meant we were able to get critical information to monitor and document what was happening.

Immediately after the attacks on August 25, we sent specialist crisis response researchers, experienced in hostile situations, to assess what was happening and to speak with refugees who had fled for their lives.

Myanmar’s authorities were restricting access to the area that was under ruthless attack, preventing humanitarian aid organizations and journalists from travelling there. Because we had been active already on Myanmar, we could immediately deploy our staff to gather and share the stories of people whose voices the Myanmar military would otherwise try to silence.

With your support, we can shine a light on the truth — ensuring the world cannot and does not look away from people suffering.

Please make an urgently needed donation today. Because no child should ever witness what these children have.

Thank you very much,
