BRITISH FORCES BRUNEI LADIES COMPETITON 2018 - BADMINTON
General
1. The first event of the British Forces Brunei ladies competition will be conducted in the Garrison Gymnasium 02 Mar 18. The inaugural event will be Badminton.
Aim
2. The aim of the competition is to promote group cohesion, promote badminton sport and maintain individual fitness within the Garrison family community.
Format & Prizes
3. The following competition formats will be conducted:
a. Ladies Singles (Free Competition) – 1st, 2nd and 3rd
b. Ladies Doubles (Inter Coy) – Main 1st, 2nd and 3rd and Plate 1st, 2ndand 3rd.
4. The order in which these events take place is depended entirely on the interest gathered through the returns to this admin instruction.
5. Once play is underway in any given event competitors will not be permitted to join into that competition, therefore team captains are to ensure they annotate their team member’s chosen events in good time prior to the start of play.
6. General information on the format for each event can be found at Annexes A and B.
Timings
7. Timings for the competition are as follows
a. 0830hrs – Registration
b. 0845hrs – Team Captains Brief
c. 0900hrs – Event begins
d. 1230hrs – Event Ends
Team Entries
8. Entries for free competition (ladies singles) and for inter coy (ladies doubles) including Garrison team (one team each Coys) must be submitted to Cpl Dilliram Rai at Unit Welfare Centre (UWC) by COP Tue 27 Feb 18. Note late submission won’t be accepted.
Equipment
9. Standard badminton posts and nets will be used, as supplied by the Garrison Gymnasium.
11. Shuttle cocks and racquets are to be brought from the Coy Sport bags. Own equipment may be used if deemed appropriate by individual. Minimum equipment is available through the Gymnasium.
Rules
13. “Gentlemen’s” rules will be used throughout the competition. If a judge is required for later round games one will be appointed. The final decision will be made by the competition OIC.
14. There will be a brief summary of the rules available to view on the day for those competitors with little experience in the sport.
Refreshments
15. Competitors are requested to bring their own water for the competition as water is in limited supply in the gym.
16. Unit Chef Master (UCM) is requested to provide some refreshment collection will be made by UWC staff at 0800 hrs on the day.
Officials/Manpower
17. RSM is kindly requested to provide x4 badminton officials, x7 lines men and x3 fatigues from Coys for the competition day. They are to report Cpl Dilliram Rai UWC/Duty PTI at 0630hrs with PT dress (RGR Red T shirt) at the gym on the day. UWC Staffs are requested to assist to PT Staffs to run the event.
Insurance & Induction
18. All competitors should have their insurance cover and should be inducted by PTI Staffs prior to take part the event in the gym hall.

Summary
20. All standards are welcome; this is an excellent opportunity for spouses and partners to compete in a friendly game of sport to promote cohesion in the family community in BFB.
