XUDELE - NATIVE AMERICAN DOGMAN

Since Linda Godfrey's pioneering book on the subject, Dogmen, men with doglike heads, have become a focus of interest for cryptozoologists.  This led me to wonder if there were any Native American traditions of this creature.

The only one I could find was the Xudele, which seems to have been an individual rather than a species, but may have resulted from a contact with a single dogman.  The Xudele was believed in by the Tsetsaut Indians of British Columbia.  This nation is now extinct.  It was said to wield an ax and to eat humans.
