Tierpark: Release Polar Bears to a Sanctuary!
| ||||
Dear friends, Another baby polar bear has died at Berlin's Tierpark zoo. Only twenty-six days old, the cub died less than a year after its mother had already lost another baby. Zoo officials said the little animal had appeared healthy the day before, but when they checked a surveillance camera the next day, the baby was suddenly dead. Its brother, Fritz, died of unknown causes at just four months old. That was only ten months ago. Their mother, Tonja, is grieving, but Tierpark is still pushing forward with its failed breeding program. They have claimed "Tonja lacks experience as this is her first birth," but the responsibility for these two dead cubs rests squarely on the zoo's shoulders. Something obviously isn't right here. We can still save more polar bears' lives if we convince Tierpark to stop its breeding program and to send its still-living bears to a sanctuary. Will you sign the petition? Thank you,
