In the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg VW is top despite all the tribulations of that company. In fact it lifted its share, while number two BMW lost ground. VW took the lead from Renault in 2006 and has never looked threatened since. Positions 2nd to 4th are filled by three German premium marques, indicating a wealthy economy.
