It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (Jan. 8, 2018)

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is now hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date.

It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

I will be combining my YA and adult reading and purchases on this one weekly roundup. YA and middle grade reviews will still be posted on  Ms. Martin Teaches Media - my other blog.

Other Than Reading...

The past week was another bitter cold one. However, we didn't get the snow that the East Coast and the South did. Next week is supposed to have a warm up. Of course for January in northern Minnesota, that means that we will have temperatures in the 20s above zero Fahrenheit. I'll take it. I am starting to feel a little house-bound. I also have a doctor's appointment this week that will give me a chance to meet my new gastroenterologist.

The cold weather has given me lots of time to hunker down and read. I took advantage. Of course, I also added way too many to my TBR stack because I couldn't pass up the Amazon deals.

Read Last Week

Adult
  • A Cold Day in Hell by Lissa Marie Redmond - police procedural with complex main character. My review will be posted on Feb. 3.
  • Promise Not to Tell by Jayne Ann Krentz - her latest and a good one. My review will be posted on Jan. 25.
  • Shattered Fear by Tara Thomas - romantic suspense novella. Reviewed on GoodReads and LibraryThing
  • Death& the Viking's Daughter by Loretta Ross - cozy mystery that is 4th in a series but stands alone well and makes me want to read the first three. My review will be posted on Feb. 7.
Young Adult
  • The Greed by Scott Bergstrom - gritty and violent story of a young woman who is a spy. My review will be posted on Jan. 31.
  • Tempests and Slaughter by Tamora Pierce - new fantasy from beloved author. My review will be posted on Feb. 2.
  • The Summer of Broken Things by Margaret Peterson Haddix - contemporary story about family with two interesting main characters. I got the ADE copy and needed to read it before it expired. My review is scheduled for April 6.
  • The Sweetest Kind of Fate (Windy City Magic, Book 2) by Crystal Cestari - urban fantasy about a girl who talent is Matchmaking but passion is becoming a pastry chef. My review will be posted on Feb. 7.
