Coronation Street episode review, Weds 3 Jan, 8.30pm

Happy New Year Corrie fans. I have been away for Crimbo, which meant a major binge-watch when I returned on New Year's Day. Hope you had a good one, here's my take on the second part of Wednesday's double bill.

The racist thugs have vandalised the garage and poor Roy is collateral damage. This storyline is really important, and I like the way this is being handled, as racism sadly still exists. And it's well acted and disturbing, it also gets people talking.

Meanwhile, Sinead and Daniel meet to discuss the love triangle yet again. It is time to close this now, as the 'special connection' that Sinead thinks they had is now really boring. Daniel lies so that Sinead will run to the arms of Chesney, but methinks it will make her more confused. And his floppy fringe will be back like a shark fin real soon, over the ginnel to taunt Chesney.

Phelan gets angry in front of Eileen re Seb. And she sits there and still does not seem to suss that this is far more than mild anger management issues. Eileen, come on!

Gary visits Anna and orange is the new black, in terms of her tabard. And she is down and almost out. I want to see her get empowered but cannot see it happening.

In other news, Rana and Kate get caught out by  miserable Robert. Smile Robert, please, at something... anything!

Carla and Roy's relationship is one of the best things about Corrie at the moment. And I, for one am looking forward to more Rarla moments. So, it's a delight to see these teo sharing scenes.

Eileen finds a piece of Andy art, scorched and Luke spots it. Go Luke, shop Phelan and let's see him go down. It's time! Cut to Gary and his mum discussing Phelan. He might have gotten away with murder, but is the net closing in? I hope so! Phelan has more lives than Donald Trump!

Robert is unhappy (really!) that #Kana is taking place. They are the second best thing in the show, right now.

Gary wants to buy a van, or does he? With Seb reeled in, this might be easier than we thought it would be, to take Seb onto his aide and bring Pat down.

Ken sees Sophie in the Rovers who says that Emily Bishop is back in the UK, looking after her niece, Freda. Bring her back, if only as a guest performer. We love Emily Bishop!

Ken has morphed into Liam Neeson from Taken and I am liking this. Daniel has resigned himself to the fact that his abandonment issues have affected his behaviour. And meanwhile Luke has gone all Poirot, in his quest for the truth. More Ken as Liam Neeson, please!

Seb comes clean and tells Seb that he might have a new job, with Gary at a mill. He then thows Seb out. Eileen is disgusted but instead of fight, she rings Jason. He is in another soap, Eileen!

Sinead is crying again over Daniel. Or is she crying now that Chesney is her only choice now? What would you do? Dump both of em, or make them eat your scented candles?

Pat drives to Gary's new job site and has a look on his face which says 'sabotage!' I hope that this story comes to an end real soon, as it is dragging on.

Give me more #Rala and #Kana and break up the triangle, please! Loving Roy having something to do and as for Carla, it's like she never left!
