"My name is Ahmed Tamimi, I am 16 years old, Palestinian. I have been kidnapped by the
Israeli authorities since December 19, invading my house, hitting my mother and brothers
because I have been struggling against a military occupation from a child. " ---- "My name
is Ibrahim Abu Turaya, and I was executed by an Israeli army sniper on 15 December,
because although I lost my feet in their attack a decade ago, I have never lost the
courage to protested even with my wheelchair.» ---- My Name Is Resistance! ---- In early
December, the US president proclaims Jerusalem the capital of the Israeli state, stating
at the same time that Israel is one of the most "successful democracies in the world".
East Jerusalem is under Israeli military occupation after the "Six Day War" in 1967 and
the US President's declaration. is a clear challenge that seeks to cancel the recognition
of East Jerusalem as occupied territory and to ratify for decades the practical challenge
of the "international character" of the city by the State of Israel.

It is a continuation of a plan that practically aims to expel the Palestinians from an
area with huge symbolic displacement for themselves - as for the peoples of the whole
region. This plan is being implemented on a long-term basis through the Israeli
settlement-rich fundraising and large land acquisitions on the eastern side of the city,
at the same time as putting permanent obstacles for the Palestinians through the
imposition of a "conditional" residence regime for people born and they grew up there as
their ancestors. A modern Apartheid that has imposed one of the "most successful
democracies in the world," a state that is a model of militarization and enforcement,

The embargo on Gaza and the wall built around it, leading to huge food and drug
deficiencies, a ban on travel and military control venues, land abandonment, house
shuffling, child arrests, massive imprisonment, murders by snipers, the bombing, are not
images of the future dystopia of modern totalitarianism, the depraved dictatorship of the
state and capital. It is the reality that it is already imposing on Palestine, where
governance through the normalization of terror is articulating methodically and steadily
at the expense of millions of people. From this point of view, the Israeli state is indeed
a model state for Western democracies, a pioneer of modern totalitarianism,

At the same time, with regard to the geostrategic aspirations of the Western bloc of power
whose motive power is the US state, the Israeli state is a stable ally in the Middle East
region. An area which, in order to control, proceeds to decay social life, prizing
theocratic dictatorships such as that of Saudi Arabia, creating feudal zones of influence,
imposing the law of expansionist war. The proclamation of Jerusalem as the capital of
Israel is a message with many recipients. Towards the Turkish state whose expansionist
aspirations and pursuit of upgrading its power in the Eastern Mediterranean region go
through "high risk" movements that act as an unpredictable factor. Towards the state of
Iran - a traditional rival of the Israeli state in the region - which is in constant
economic growth after the lifting of the sanctions in 2015, sanctions which the new
president of the United States he suggests that he can reinstate. It is also a message of
strength to the whole international community, the arena of states and transnational power
blocs, as "recognition" is an obvious violation of the UN's decisions on the military
occupation of East Jerusalem. A violation in which a state of pariah does not, but once
again the leading power of the world power system, emphatically proclaiming that there is
only one "law" in the world of state and capitalism. That of the powerful that is
forcefully imposed on the weak.

In this power arena, the people of Palestine are a pendulum to be settled, a population
struggling to be able to simply exist. And the Israeli people are a value of use, a
society that must be eternally at war and militarized in the same way as the state. The
centuries of coexistence of different national and religious groups in the region must be
eradicated in a war of interdependence, where undoubtedly the role of the powerful imposed
by all means is given to it by the state of Israel.

The resistance of the Palestinian people to military occupation is a constant thorn in the
timeless plans of world powers. Poor and excluded from the elementary Palestinians despite
crippling policies brought against them are not delivered, fighting for freedom and
dignity. These elements of the game we want to highlight as anarchists, the ability to
fights conquered the mighty conqueror, the ability of the poor and the excluded to revolt
and under the most brutal conditions. International solidarity we want to create rifts
within the ruling attackers bringing attention to our own history, the history of the
struggles from below against at all times,

Leicester Anarchist Communists note from an article in the 11th January Leicester Mercury
that Leicestershire County Council, in order to save £3.8 million, is set to shut down
over half of the county's Children & Family Centres - that's 25 out of 40 of those
facilities used by those families most in need. In a county where at last estimate (Dec
2015) at least 12,700 children (that's over 15% of those under 18) were deemed to be
living in poverty, it's hard not to be appalled by the level of callousness. ---- Tory
austerity and Tory County Council though, innit, some might say and while we would agree
that Tories are indeed a vile, callous bunch, at some point or other, councils of whatever
political stripe have all been guilty of similar behaviour at various times - and
Leicester City Council (Labour) has been no stranger to making cuts to services for the
most needy. Incidentally, more recent research on child poverty within the City
boundaries, according to the Leicestershire Child Poverty Commission, states that "26,000
children and young people are growing up in poverty in Leicester." That's more than a
staggering 30% of children and young people.

This all becomes even more obscene when you realise that not only is Leicestershire far
from being one of the nation's poorest counties (Uncle Wikipedia says it's actually the
18th richest), it's also home to people like (sorry Foxes fans) Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha,
currently worth £2.8 billion; John Bloor (of John Bloor investments), worth £1.45 billion;
Will Adderly and family (Dunelm Group), worth £1.2 billion... and then there's a veritable
shitload of millionaires in tow, starting with Peter and Sir Roger De Haan, worth a cool
900 million quid. We say 'worth' but in terms of their contributions to the general
betterment of humanity, this lot really aint worth shit.

The problem, of course, is not whether it's Tory, Labour or some other chumps running the
council (or central government, for that matter), the problem is capitalism itself. And
the shutting down of such centres is just all part and parcel of a system that exploits
workers and shits on the poorest most. We're talking about an ongoing class war, and this,
coupled with things like continual wage restraint, massive rent rises, the lack of social
housing, the introduction of Universal Credit and general attacks on those receiving
benefits... these are all battles in this war that only one side appears to be fighting at
the minute: them, the rich, the government, the boss class. But we really need to wise up
and start defending ourselves by coming together at work, in our communities, with our
fellow tenants to organise and fight back.

By the way, in a final messed up irony, to save that £3.5 million, Leicestershire County
Council might end up having to pay back £5.8 million of grants already received from
central government as a result of shutting down these centres! You really could not make
it up.

Since 19 October, chambermaids, housekeepers, divers and crew members of subcontracting
with their union CNT-SO and with the support of the CGT-HPE are on strike at the Holiday
Inn Paris Porte de Clichy (92 ). This conflict is emblematic of the fight against
outsourcing and the breakage of workers' rights. ---- To show our solidarity with the
strikers and increase the pressure against IHG, the owner of the Holiday Inn brand, let us
gather in front of the hotel Intercontinental de Marseille, palace of the same group. A
delegation of strikers will be present in parallel to another action in Geneva. ---- Rogue
subcontractors, IHG complices!  ---- HOLIDAY INN as INTERCONTINENT AL is one of the brands
of the British hotel group IHG Intercontinental Hotels Group, the world's largest hotel
group in terms of the number of rooms.
Based in London, this 400 million profit multinational has 4400 hotels worldwide and 6
brands: Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, InterContinentalHotels & ResHoliday Inn, Orts,
Holiday Inn Express, Hotel Indigo and Staybridge Suites.
IHG derives some of its profits from the frenzied exploitation of outsourcing employees
but refuses to intervene in this conflict with its subcontractor HEMERA. This gathering
will be an opportunity to remind them of their social responsibility, in Clichy as in
Marseille!

Jion the smash IPP march and protest  on the 14th February meeting outside 12 Minshull St,
Manchester M1 3FR ( Probation Office ) This March is to get IPP sentences abolished

including Ian Hartley, a prisoner at HMP Risley. His family need him home! ---- More than
4000 people are serving IPP (imprisonment for public protection) sentences in British
prisons. Six years since the sentence was abolished, thousands still languish in jails
with no release date. Parole board delays, prison overcrowding and sheer neglect is
leading unprecedented rates of prisoner suicides and mental health problems. 80% are over
tariff and desperate to be free ----

Sunday, January 28 at 1:45 PM - 2:45 PM UTC+11 Next Week ---- 62 St Georges Rd, Northcote
VIC 3070, Australia ---- This presentation examines the history of factory occupations in
Australia with a focus on the seminal but largely ignored episode in Australian labour
history. In 1979, the Altona Petrochemical Complex was the scene of a historic
materialisation of class struggle, when 52 workers occupied the Union Carbide plant for a
period of 51 days. It was, and remains, the longest factory occupation in Australian
history. Occupations, generally, represent not only a challenge to the immediate party
involved but a fundamental critique of the existing social, political and economic order,
and in that sense must be understood within a broader milieu of resistance to the
imperatives of power. Furthermore, the act of occupation is an occurrence that can be
designated as a "weapon of the weak." Factory occupations are the highest and most
audacious form of occupation as they, like all occupations, challenge the supposed
inviolability of property, but transcend the potentialities of other occupations by
challenging the property and privileges of the ruling class. The Union Carbide Sit-in
Strike constituted one such challenge.

Serantini Library (BFS editions): ---- 188 pp.: ill.; 21 cm ---- "Marginal" necklace. €
18.00 ---- ISBN 978-88-89413-91-3 ---- Preface and care of the Italian edition of Martino
Seniga ---- Introduction by Debbie Bookchin and Blair Taylor ---- Afterword by Ursula K.
Le Guin ---- Murray Bookchin's essays, published in this book, start from the merciless
analysis of the desolate scenery of the capitalist society of the twenty-first century,
from the ecological disaster to the increase in social inequities and injustices, but have
the courage to propose a new, revolutionary path and democratic, for all those who believe
that progress can be associated with social justice and collectivism.

Without imagining, in an unrealistic way, of overthrowing globalized society, Bookchin
proposes a feasible strategy for the international left, a strategy that re-launching the
relationship between citizens and local communities finds in the direct democracy and in
popular assemblies the tools to relaunch social policies , democratic and progressive in
the era of global capitalism.

That proposed by Bookchin and a libertarian and glocal democracy that aspires to change
for the better the future of mankind and the planet in which we live. A utopia that has
already inspired the Kurdish people who, also from Bookchin's thesis, drew the ideological
impulse to create in Libya and in Turkey new libertarian and egalitarian communities
united in the Confederalist democratic project. A political and social project that in
Rojava contributed to the victorious battle of Kurdish men and women against the army of
cutthroats and rapists of the Islamic State and in Bakur supports resistance to the harsh
repression of the Turkish state in Kurdistan's cities and free municipalities of the north.
