Double your donation Dear friend, Five-year-old Buthaina used to have five brothers and sisters to play with. Now she has none. In August, the Saudi Arabia-led coalition dropped a bomb on her home in Sana’a, Yemen. Our team at Amnesty confirmed that the bomb that killed Buthaina’s parents, siblings and other civilians was made in the United States. The United States has supplied weapons and military equipment to Saudi Arabia, which is leading the military coalition in Yemen. Weapons supplied by the United States have been used to commit war crimes and devastate the lives of Yemeni civilians. We are calling for an immediate and comprehensive arms embargo on all parties to the conflict in Yemen to ensure that the U.S. does not supply weapons, munitions, military equipment and technology that can be used in the conflict. This includes any equipment, financial or logistical support being used to maintain the blockade imposed by the Saudi Arabia-led coalition in Yemen. Just last month, thanks to pressure from activists, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning civilian deaths, starvation and the spread of disease in Yemen, admitting that much of the responsibility for the crisis rests with the U.S. We have momentum. Your donation will help keep Amnesty crisis investigators reporting on crimes against Yemeni civilians and mobilize millions of Amnesty activists to pressure Congress to stop supplying Saudi Arabia with weapons that can be used to commit violations.
