The Nisos String Trio was founded in Nicosia in 2015. Their performances often take a lecture recital format as its members share an interest in research. So far, the Nisos String Trio have performed at the Strovolos Municipal Theatre, the European University and the Orpheus Music Hall.

Johann Sebastian Bach's Goldberg VariationsBWV 988, is a masterpiece originally composed for the harpsichord. The work was first published in 1741 and consisting of an aria and a set of 30 variations. It is considered to be one of the most important examples of variation form. The Variations were named after the German virtuoso harpsichordist and composer Johann Gottlieb Goldberg, who may have been their first performer. The NISOS trio will be performing Dimitri Sitkovetsky's 1984 arrangement of the work for string trio (violin/viola/cello). The performance will be preceded by a short talk given by the NISOS String Trio on the work's background and composition.
