Dear friends, Tonight, the world will glow bright blue in honor of Human Rights Day! That’s right Luc, from New York to Sydney – Taipei to Toronto, 24 landmarks across the globe will shine blue in solidarity with the human rights movement and the values we work daily to defend: equality, dignity, and justice for all. But this global expression of solidarity is more than symbolic. It's a statement of purpose and a call to action around the world. Illuminating these iconic buildings embodies HRW’s mission to shine a light on human rights violations wherever they occur. It captures the power of Human Rights Watch as a beacon of hope for victims of abuses around the world. It shows the world the importance of exposing atrocities and spotlighting injustices so they cannot be ignored.
