Cuba man pleads not guilty to several counts of child rape
In Cattaraugus County court Monday…Richard Edwards, 36 of Cuba, was arraigned and entered a plea of not guilty to an indictment that charges him with three counts of Rape in the First Degree, a class B felony; Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, a class B felony; Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a class B felony; two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor; and three counts of Rape in the Second Degree, a class D felony. The District Attorney’s office said the incidents occurred between March 6, 2011 and May 1, 2013, in the Town of Hinsdale. Prosecutors allege that Edwards had sexual intercourse with a person who was less than thirteen years old. The matter has been adjourned for motions.
