Photo 2017 Human Rights Watch | Hello,Here are some important stories you should see this week.Did you know children can legally marry in Florida? Unbelievably, it's true. From 2001 to 2015, over 16,000 children under the age of 18 married in Florida. This has devastating consequences, and we need your help to stop it.- 15 million girls around the world marry before age 18 each year. Married girls face health risksincluding deathdue to early pregnancy, are usually forced to quit education, and are at greater risk of violence. This is no less true in parts of the US.
- We launched a campaign in February calling for New York State to raise the legal age of marriage from 14 to 17. Tens of thousands of you joined us and took action. It worked!
- Now we need your help again. A bill has been introduced in Florida which would end child marriage. We're asking lawmakers to support the bill. We're getting there but there's still work to do! Join us and tell them once and for all that it's time to protect Florida's girls!

| | | Instead of holding perpetrators to account, Rwanda staged an elaborate cover-up in response to an HRW report on killings in the country. |
|
| | | Two million civilians in Idlib are sitting ducks. Rather than a safe zone, Idlib has effectively become in some parts a killing zone with escape routes closed. |
