Why have all the women in Coronation Street started to look the same?
It's the long, straight dark hair that does it.
Admittedly, Sophie and Rosie are meant to look similar as they're sisters...
... and Carla and Michelle are related too, so it's understandable that they'd look similar, but it still feels like a 'type' of woman is being developed in Weatherfield. They're all morphing into each other these days.
Think about those female characters who don't fall into the dark haired beauties of Weatherfield. Characters like Gemma, Rita, Jenny flaming Bradley, Yasmeen, Sally, Cathy, Gail, Audrey, Sarah - characters that are much more interesting both visually and dramatically.
And think back to the glory days of the soap when the women were celebrated with the highlights and lowlights of their life as dramatic as those in their hairdos.
