'Bloody' sunset appears over smoke-filled Bay Area (SFGate). On a personal note I asked my brother why did the fires spread so quickly in certain urban parts of Napa and Sonoma. His answer .... building codes. That is why some older homes are standing while all the other "new" homes on a street are gone.
