Health Department 'dings' Wellsville business

On September 1, 2017, as the result of an unannounced compliance check conducted by the Allegany County Department of Health, a tobacco product (cigarettes) was illegally sold to an underage child at the above-named facility. These compliance checks are conducted as part of the Adolescent Tobacco Use Prevention Act (ATUPA) Program. This is the second known violation of furnishing/selling regulated tobacco products to individuals under the age of 18 during an ATUPA compliance check. As a result of this illegal sale, the Health Department has taken appropriate, and required, enforcement action against this facility.
