intense period: extra working hours, faster pace, less time to regenerate. Increasing work 
intensity can also mean increased conflicts between employees and bosses. One of the 
establishments that pay special attention during the holiday season is Amazon. Below we 
publish an interview with an employee of Amazon, summarizing what was happening in the

it is necessary to talk about how the working conditions in the Amazon look from the 
perspective of employees.

Breaking the rules of health and safety is not the only problem with which you will meet 
recently.

Their main problem is that they will be employed by the employment agency. If they do not 
meet the standards imposed by Amazon, it will be very easy to get rid of them. In 
practice, this means that, for example, sick leave actually excludes the chance of 
extending the contract. We do not have exact rotation data, but I have been working in 
Amazon for two years and hundreds of people who have started with me have seen three more. 
The terms of employment have also changed: after a three-month trial contract, you receive 
an annual fixed-term contract and an indefinite-term contract. This increases the time 
needed to obtain a permanent employment contract for up to two years - while the 
statistics quoted by our colleagues, union workers from Germany show that the average 
working time in this company is about three years.

In 2015 you were in a collective dispute with the management of Amazon. longer time 
graphs, traineeship allowances, wage increases, and changes in how breaks are planned. 
Mediation was aborted by the employer. Have your actions taken some long-term effect?

In fact, after difficult negotiations that denied all our demands, Amazon's board broke

Is it possible to put pressure on the employer and improve working conditions despite the 
lack of effective legal tools?

Since 2015, we have been organizing International Meetings of Amazone Workers. The first 
took place in Poznan. Initially, Amazona's employees from Poland and Germany participated 
in the event and organized German support groups for Amazona employees. In time we joined 
the staff of France, and we are also in contact with the crew from Spain. We have contacts 
with the logistics sector in Italy, where regular protest actions are being carried out. 
Most of the employees in this industry in Italy are immigrants from North Africa and the 
Balkans - their experience is especially valuable to us because breaking through the 
divisions among the workers and building a strategy of network-based protests, they have 
won stricter working conditions and higher salaries.

These international meetings allow us to perceive differences, sometimes striking, in the 
approach of one employer in different countries. Amazon always operates at the level of 
minimum standards required by local labor law and market. Coordination helps us in the 
flow of information and planning of joint actions - for example, in 2015, when the German 
Amazons center was out, a large part of the burden was transferred to Polish troops. 
Polish workers spontaneously slowed down their work, which was the first act of 
international solidarity. Also, the "Safe Pack" action we were talking about was broader - 
it was conducted in Leipzig and Saran centers near Paris. The experience of many years of 
functioning of the Amazon centers in Europe shows that effective actions must involve more 
than one center - only then such actions as,

It seems that logistics is an extremely difficult field to carry out penny stocks.

It is no more difficult than elsewhere. Even if the Italian experience shows that it is 
possible to organize effectively - we have to deal with the concentration of workers in 
relatively small spaces. The key is to accurately map the entire supply chain - besides 
storage centers we also have transport, including maritime, rail, and manufacturing 
facilities. Part of the work must be done in a specific location and it can not easily be 
transferred to another continent - ultimately logistics is a service provided to a very 
specific customer. In addition, work in this industry is often precarious and is performed 
by people who are unskilled, very poorly paid. It all creates a perspective of employee 
fighting strategies completely different from the past.

At the recent G20 summit in Hamburg there was an effective blockade of entry into the huge 
harbor, which resulted in multi-hour traffic jams and delays in unloading and loading of 
tugs. It was more than a symbolic gesture, showing that it was still possible to disrupt 
capitalist logic through organized resistance. Logistics on the one hand involves the mass 
of employees, on the other hand has many sensitive points, giving these employees the 
strength. It is expected that in this branch of the labor struggle will gain new dynamics.

Are standards in the Amazon talking about the future of the Polish labor market?

Amazon is primarily focused on the scale of the action and the great advertising hype that 
it presents as a great employer. In the meantime, many other large plants are offering 
better working conditions. What really sets Amazon apart is the pace of expansion. In the 
near future two additional centers will be opened - and this is not the relocation of 
Western European plants, but the result of market expansion. The work relations themselves 
are extremely subordinate to the logic of efficiency, in the spirit of very strict 
handler. Interestingly, the logistics industry has a lot to do with the military complex. 
The American Amazon is eager to hire former military executives as managerial leaders and 
serial veterans as production leaders, rewarding their experience with Afghanistan or 
Iraq. Working in Amazon is a daily experience very far-fetched; If you do not work for an 
IT system for more than 3 minutes, eg a tape dispenser is jammed, it is recorded and

regulations. This is a tremendous pressure, because even the best motivated worker is a

subordination of their working life.

Amazon is also trying to discourage workers from taking medical leave.

Yes, the ambition of control goes beyond the workplace. At the beginning of this year, 
German employees were given the opportunity to receive a freqance bonus calculated for 
lack of absenteeism in a given team. The goal was to exert pressure on each other not to 
take redundancies. At the same time, the Polish branch of the company started to use the 
services of an external company that checked the use of medical leave. This involves 
visiting the home where they are not always admitted. By the way, employees fill out a 
questionnaire about their situation in the company. The company officially admits visits 
to sick neighbors or physicians issuing vacancies, which in the future may discourage them 
from sending our colleagues to the disease. We have legal doubts, Is the transfer of 
sensitive personal data to an outside company at all reasonable? Amazon's actions are 
intended to intimidate employees not to leave work. Those who go to release are called 
cheaters. There is an insufficient amount of leave and breaks and low wages, which are not 
always enough to use such services as babysitter, ready-made food, laundry or repair of 
your own car.

Amazon is very on view. Few employers are so interested in the media. It's the result of 
your committee's work.

Amazon aroused great interest even before it started operating in Poland. The fact that it 
has managed to organize a well-functioning, relatively large commission in the Saddles, is 
a signal for employees in other industries. Amazon is making huge money using the 
neo-liberal standard still in force in Poland and the neo-liberal language spoken by most 
of the Polish elites. In principle, it does not treat trade unions as a partner to talk 
about terms of pay and employment, preferring to talk to employees without intermediaries. 
As a result, our wages are determined on the basis of earnings data in the local area and 
across the industry. Similarly, it is in other companies.

The average wage in the Amazon is about 2600 PLN gross, which is a bit higher than the 
national minimum. Payments are paid in a very negligible way - regularly underdevelopment, 
errors, we get underdogs, which only after appeals are compensated. The fight for better 
working conditions and higher salaries in places like Amazon has an impact on the position 
of other workers and the general standards of work. That's why we need to support each 
other. This is the only way to permanently break the spiral of low wages and disobey the 
eight-hour workday. No top-level regulation made at the political level will allow for a 
lasting change.

In the autumn-winter of 2015-2016 we are, the year after the referendum-rioting on the 
government of SYRIZA-ANEL with the hottest question of debate, from the TV channels to the

state. This is because migrants cross the borders of Europe and, in any case, Greece, who 
have been struck by the war and the socioeconomic trench, find thousands of deaths in 
Evros and the Aegean (and all the land and maritime borders). In this context, it is 
decided to go to Evros and specifically to the village of Kastania, who wants to 
demonstrate precisely this, death. The SYRIZA government, following the immigration policy 
of a fortress Europe that is standing up every day with the bodies of dead migrants, 
refers to "technical" issues that prevent the Ebro fence from falling and even the 
immigration policy minister stated that "it is wrong to consider the passage of the Ebro 
to be untouched" , when people were drowning daily trying to cross the border and seek 
asylum in our country.
The borders are closed, walls are raised and immigrants are left in the treaties of the 
European Union. The Europe-fortress opens the smuggling of migrants by creating an 
exemption regime for those who are surplus. These conditions, however, serve the interests 
of capital, whose "laws" require the creation of cheap labor. The supposedly humanitarian 
values of Europe, then, impose the absorption of a very specific number of immigrants so 
as to meet the needs of the capitalist system. And when these needs are met, then the tap 
is closed ... then there are only wet graves of immigrants, only minefields and fences, 
social cannibalism and racist behaviors. Then the murderous attacks of the partisan and 
the state continue to be found and the bosses find the next victims of their exploitation.
In the context of this particular treaty and with the central targeting of the 
demonstration against the Evros fence, we made massive distractions, intervention in the

The movement of the fascists

the Emfuleni Local Municipality's Ward 17 since the August 2016 municipal elections. Ward 
17 is a ward in Sebokeng, and consists of Eskom Village, Hostels 1and 2, the Masiza Flats 
and other places, as well as Zone 20. Emfuleni municipality is part of the Sedibeng 
District Municipality. ---- The African National Congress (ANC) controls the Ward, but is 
deeply split. ANC members vote against ANC members, complaining of a lack of 
accountability in the organisation. They claim that the people who represent the party and 
the local community in the Council do not represent the majority in the local party. This 
means the minority has the last say, with power and control over the masses through its 
positions.

MAYORS

The local ANC is divided into two groups and the conflict spills over into the community. 
The problem did not start in 2016. An ANC faction approached the Sedibeng mayor of 
2011-2015, Mr Simon Mofokeng, complaining a Ward councillor was employing his siblings and 
friends. The Mayor responded by dividing four projects in the affected Ward between the 
two factions.

Mofokeng became Emfuleni Mayor later in 2015. In 2017, he was accused in the media of 
spending nearly R2 million on KFC and Nando's fast food, and luxury hotels from 2011-2017.

RDP HOUSING

A public housing project was introduced by the provincial Department in February 2013. 
This involved a massive contract to the black capitalist firm Malgotamishe Building 
Construction.

In August 2013, when the project started, the Department of Housing established a Project 
Steering Committee with different groupings, so the project could run smoothly and the 
information flow to all stakeholders.

However, a section of the SA Communist Party (SACP) appeared on the scene, through the 
African National Congress (ANC)-led Alliance. The Alliance is made of the ANC, the SACP, 
and the Congress of SA Trade Unions (COSATU). It convinced the community that the 
project's Community Liaison Officer (CLO) was only employing his friends, also pressuring 
desperate women in need of jobs into his bed. They called a community meeting to complain 
about the CLO, saying that they did not want the CLO because he was stubborn. They 
complained about the employment criteria he used, without consulting the community leaders 
or the Steering Committee.

After the dismissal of the first CLO, the SACP group used the community to appoint its 
members the new CLO and the Local Development Officer (LDO). Then they forced new rules 
onto the Project Steering Committee, which resulted in the project stopping for nine 
months. Then the project started again, running smoothly for one year and six months, 
until violence and hate speech came back, dividing the community again.

THE HOSTELS

The fight is over the houses, the jobs and the positions. An SACP person involved in the 
fights said the old people in the area "must go back to the Eastern Cape" as they are 
"expired." These are former migrant workers; going back means losing access to the new 
housing in Sebokeng. The problems led to block committees disbanding, although block 
committees are independent structures not affiliated with party structures.

Major housing developments started taking place at Golden Gardens, close to the Golden 
Highway, around the Ward 17 area. The beneficiaries are mainly young people, who have 
access to the new subsidised "RDP" houses. Older people and workers are refusing to leave 
the old KwaMasiza Hostel, because it might be renovated and they want to benefit.

The Ward councillor is using his followers to fight for control of key projects: rival 
groups have ended in hospital, beaten up by his group.

Cheap politics destroys our communities. We need something better.

Back to school is organized around a generalized failure: social difficulties, 
disaster-stricken teachers, infringed registration fees, overcrowded classes ... Only 
alternative: mobilize to defend the public school. ---- The new Minister of National 
Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, sets the tone by organizing a catastrophic school year. 
---- Failure 1: the social environment of children continues to deteriorate: poorly housed 
children, children living in social precariousness, destruction of preventive medicine, 
destruction of the School Aid Networks. No improvement in school results is realistic, 
without an improvement in the living conditions of the children. And for now, nothing is 
foreseen ... ---- Failure 2: Initial teacher training is still not up to requirements, 
neither from a didactic point of view nor from a pedagogical point of view. One continues 
to pretend to believe that having a master's degree allows you to teach, whereas everyone 
knows that it is false. Continuous training of teachers has collapsed: there are no more 
internships, no time for reflection or in-service training.

Fail # 3: The right to student registration is violated. We no longer count students who 
have failed to enroll in university, high school students who do not have chests (and high 
schools that do not have the equipment necessary to make high school students ... like in 
high school Sabatier de Bobigny), the pupils refused on the day of the school year, the 
schoolchildren whom the town halls refuse to register in defiance of the application of 
the law on compulsory education.

Failure 4: After removing a "   More teachers than classes   " scheme without any 
evaluation in the REP + schools, the government imposed "   CPs with 12, 100% success   " 
without any consultation with the municipalities that have not the premises, nor the 
teachers who suddenly find themselves in two in the same room without having chosen it.

In order to occupy our minds, the government begins to walk around with a pseudo debate 
between the syllabic and the global, the neurosciences and the digital in the school, 
whereas what is organized is the weakening of the public school in order to create a 
school and out-of-school market allowing the entry of large private groups in a space that 
is more promising from the point of view of the benefits to be taken.

In order to divert us from the real world, there is the promotion of "   alternative   ", 
"   benevolent   " schools on all floors , in which the children of well-to-do families 
could attend peaceful and costly schooling, while the schools of suburbs and villages 
pressurized to the extreme to bring down the endowments of the State.

The only alternative is to defend the public school, not for what it is, but for what we 
would like it to be, defend it by building mobilizations to demand conditions for all 
children. life and work, and the application of social rights that affect them: right to 
school, right to prevention medicine, right to trained and competent teachers, right to 
the reflective improvement of teaching conditions.

the body found in the Chubut River was that of Santiago. As an anarchist community from 
the other side of the mountain range, we have the obligation to honor the memory of 
Santiago fighting to clarify everything that happened on August 1 in the Mapuche community

Against this treaty, against the polluting civilization, to re-establish our collective 
resistance, self-organized and uninvolved. Through multi-faceted actions, by strengthening 
solidarity relations and networking of struggles, by grounding our prerogatives through 
appropriation and occupation of lands, take a stand against state and capital plans, land 
and freedom. ---- Saronic, the marine dump of development  ---- September 10, 2017, the 
tanker Agia Zoni II, sinks into the Saronic Gulf. The ship transferred (according to the 
well-known shipowner of Kountouri) about 2,600 tons of oil. The media are confusingly 
publishing the first news, obviously not by accident, and the same pattern is followed by 
the government. They talk about limited oil outflow. However, the large oil spills and the 
pitch gradually covering the Saronic coast can not hide. The sunken tanker was a one-sided 
45-year-old boat, remarkably repaired with patches and with 2 sailors instead of 11, as 
planned, in its handling. Under such conditions, the "star of Greek shipping" can shine on 
the top of the world list ...

His sinking takes place shortly after he had loaded most of his cargo from Hellenic 
Petroleum, at the Aspropyrgos refineries. Initially, they talk about 300 tons of oil at 
sea, then become more than a hundred. In the next few days management by media and state 
mechanisms is done with more "thin" manipulations. A rundown of former and current 
ministers, mayors, specialists, shipowners and channelists are beginning to ecstatically 
shame to disguise not only the "accident" as they call it, but overall the "noble" 
practices of capitalist development (industries, shipowning capital, trade, tourism, 
refineries, urban waste water) that for decades have turned Saronikos into a savoy. The 
conversation is now focused on the corrective actions to be taken by the state and the 
ship company in order to eliminate the damage, both as an image and as a memory, in which 
case it is spent on decontamination mechanisms and specialized techniques for removing 
oil, the possible compensations that the affected tourist areas will receive, the 
"superhuman" efforts of the state apparatus that manage to eliminate the oil from the sea 
and with it another history a degradation of the Saronic Gulf and the lives of its 
inhabitants.

The sinking of the tanker was not an accident. What is never going to be said is precisely 
that it was a premeditated crime in the name of capitalist development, the one that 
spreads only looting and death. For many decades Saronikos and its coastal areas, from 
Perama and Keratsini to Elefsina and Aspropyrgos, Salamina and Psittalia, have the 
characteristics of a particular geography. Piraeus is now a transit commodity giant of 
goods and millions of passengers and tourists from and to the countries abroad as well as 
to the Aegean islands. Obviously, the burden of the Saronic Gulf on the hundreds of ships 
of every kind that crosses it daily is systematic. Wastewater and petroleum products 
leaving ships during their transit are the main cause of desertification of the marine 
environment and this is a daily "accident". At the same time, hundreds of tankers are 
loading and unloading oil and various derivatives and "accidents" during transport are 
innumerable. Reading even research from shipping circles can see that oil spills (from 
breaking a hose to transhipment) are a constant source of pollution for the Saronic Gulf, 
and it is easy to see the magnitude of atmospheric pollution from chimneys the refineries 
and furthermore the burden of the aquifer in the areas of Elefsina and Aspropyrgos from

The pollution in Saronikos was not "discovered" by the sinking of Agia Zoni II tanker. The 
latter event is a sharp expression of this daily history of degradation of the areas, the 
complete depreciation of the inhabitants' lives and the brutal imposition of polluting 
civilization on every facet of their existence . Especially the areas from Perama to 
Eleusis are classically determined, with the inhabitants, on the basis of the class

containers,

But the "work" at ELPE refiners, Latsis interests and the Greek state, seems to be 
profitable - the turnover of the company in 2016 exceeded that of 2015 and amounted to 328 
million euros. Obviously, the increase in profits goes hand in hand with the easing of 
labor relations, workers' exhaustion, incomplete security measures resulting in many 
injuries and murderous "accidents", most recently in May 2015 with six injuries and the 
death of four workers.

We need to stop at another point. Domestic shipbuilding capital is a pillar of capitalist 
development and enjoys a particular response from the Greek state. Apart from not taxing 
his profits, he has imposed a labor middle ages, deals with all sorts of smuggling, is 
part of a system of interference with many bots, holds media, football clubs. and uses the 
fans as a mercenary army (see Marinakis-Melissanidis). It is funny, therefore, from the

renewable energy) in every inch mountain in Crete, the Peloponnese, etc. for the benefit 
of various energy lobby, the continued diversion of Acheloos river, and slicing the marine 
area of the Aegean and Ionian seas in "plots", for oil and gas drilling ... But to return 
to Attica, with plans for mining craters in the Geranian Mountains, the impending 
destruction of Philadelphia for the benefit of Melissanides, the sale of the former

pillage of land plunder in the name of growth. The sweeping development projects that suck 
the maximum earth, air, water, energy sources to expand markets, reflect, because of our 
infinite interactions with the natural surroundings, and an aggressive strategy with 
regard to the formation of the same characteristics of life. The inhabitants of Saronikos 
will learn to breathe polluted air, to work in galley conditions, to swim in polluted 
seas, just like the inhabitants of the Northwest. Halkidiki will inhale high concentration 
dust,

The latest crime in the Saronic Gulf area has made visible, due to its extent, a condition 
that has become a living condition. We seek to become accustomed to the devaluation of our 
lives, to be definitively and irrevocably subject to the conditions imposed by sovereign 
plans, to the endless flow of goods, profitability, in terms of exploitation, oppression, 
pillage. Until life is impregnated by these very values as a whole. Issues of polluting 
culture are not resolved by quantitative style arrangements: less intervention, less 
pollution, less profitability. They are not solved by rationalizing development. Against 
this treaty, against the polluting civilization, to re-establish our collective 
resistance, self-organized and uninvolved. With multi-faceted actions, by strengthening 
solidarity and networking,

We do not want a "other kind of development", but the destruction of a world that 
exploits, inequality, looting.

This world is not rational, it is overturned.
