David was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Marines. He also loved listening to old country music, playing multiple instruments, mostly the banjo and guitar and was a truck driver and former farmer.
Surviving are his children, David L. Ellis of Macedon, Christopher D. (Nikki) Ellis of Troutman, NC, Heidi (Timothy) Yarbrough of Leesburg, FL, Nicole Ellis of Leesburg, FL, eight grandchildren, his siblings, Dorothy (Leonard) Campbell of Centerville, Eleanor (Brian) Reilly of Centerville, George (Linrae) Ellis of Rushford, Martin Ellis of Sandusky, Brenda (Emmett) Crosby of Florida, Matthew (Mishell) Ellis of Franklinville, the mother of his two sons, Joanne P. Wood of Macedon and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at his brother George’s home, 9423 Centerville Road, Rushford. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
