Message: 1
As a reader of the anarchist press, I was perplexed to note that as a result of the
February 2014 protests in Venezuela, the newspaper El Libertario departed radically from
the principles and purposes of anarchism, adopting a line in tune with the mass media and
in functionality with statism, the right bourgeoisie and interventionism. The El
Libertario newspaper, using a typically bourgeois citizen language in defense of Democracy
and Human Rights, even called for the intervention of organizations such as the OAS in
Venezuela (1) through its digital website and to issue manipulations such as the assertion
that the February movement in Venezuela was born of "spontaneity." (2) ---- Days before,
Rafael Uzcátegui, editor of El Libertario, in an article called Manifesto Nini, said:
"Today is a need to oxygenate the country's corrupt political landscape, reinvent the
movement dynamics and recover a democratic institutionality that responds to the needs of
people." (3)
In reading this declaration of bourgeois-democratic intentions, I asked myself what were
the motivations of Rafael Uzcátegui for such a reformist position. I then decided to read
this newspaper carefully to understand what interests pursue such an ideological turn and
to visualize the possible concrete links of the media with the bourgeoisie and the
mechanisms they use in the name of "Anarchy" to manipulate mediatically, both nationally
and internationally.
Before proceeding, I think it pertinent to remember that criticism of those who
participate in El Libertario's elaboration tends to focus mainly on the fact that they are
middle-class people, "sifrinos," as they would say in Venezuela. These criticisms I
consider to be insufficient, since, without being a minor theme, the social origin of the
editors, the important and fundamental for anarchism historically has been the political
practice and the libertarian conscience. But those who support El Libertario, besides
belonging to the privileged middle classes, carry out a concretely bourgeois concrete
political activity: collaborationism, class conciliation, interventionism, citizenship and
bourgeois pacifism. So I'll try to show you why.
El Libertario and its direct link with the bourgeois organization Provea
The editor of El Libertario, Rafael Uzcátegui, known in anarchist circles as author of the
book Venezuela: The Revolution as a spectacle, is one of the leading theoreticians and
freed employees of the NGO Provea, an organization that was strongly questioned for its
partial character in favor of the parties right wing in Venezuela. (4)
Provea and El Libertario share the same discursive line of defense of democracy,
constitution and human rights. Rafael Uzcátegui, is not a simple employee of a company as
any of us could work, but the work that develops in Provea corresponds to an activity of
political militancy remunerated like released of this organization. The newspaper El
Libertario presents itself as the communicational arm of Provea, proof of which is that
they promote the declarations of Provea, both written (5) and in the video format (6).
The discourse on Human Rights and Democracy, historically related to the left, is
currently a weapon of interventionist, neocolonial capitalism. It was in the name of
democracy and human rights that the genocides and invasions of Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya
were consummated. This speech is praised by NGOs who openly appeal to interventionism, a
communication practice strongly criticized by different anticapitalist circles, a concrete
example is the critique of Amnesty International's interventionism by the anarchist
magazine Love and Rabies. (7)
In Venezuela, the dynamics are similar: Rafael Uzcátegui himself, through twitter (8),
issued declarations from Provea, openly calling for international interventionism: "Events
in Venezuela show the deterioration of public institutions to effectively arbitrate on the
diversity of political positions that exist in Venezuela. Faced with this situation, it is
very important that several sectors of the national and international community react. " (9)
What does this NGO refer to as an "international community"? The AIT? The anarchic and
hardworking world? You must be too naive to think such a thing. They clearly refer to
politico-military organizations associated with organizations such as the European Union
and especially the Organization of American States, where the US government stands out. It
is no coincidence that Provea is financed by agencies of the international bourgeoisie of
these states.
Who is behind Provea?
Provea is funded primarily by the US and Europe. It is the same organization that points
out on its website receiving direct funding from different companies and states (10).
Among the funders are England, a state that has been the protagonist of the United States
in the genocide of Iraq and Afghanistan. (11)
Also noteworthy is the US funding for Provea by the "democratic" and "very concerned about
the Venezuelan people" organization, Open Society Institute (12), an organization of
financial terrorist and professional speculator George Soros (13). Settled by Forbes as
one of the 10 richest men in the US (14), George Soros is known for his ability to prey in
the world of global speculation and was the main protagonist of the black Wednesday,
financial crisis that in 1992 caused the bankruptcy of the Bank of England, by allowing
this speculator to increase its fortune by more than a billion dollars. (15)
Among the private financiers of Provea are Ford Motor Company (16), a company with
important industrial interests in Venezuela (car plant in Valencia, Carabobo state). The
Ford Motor Company has a long history of collaboration with fascist regimes, financed
Nazism (17) and was the first major international company to collaborate with Franco (18).
The company was accused in Argentina of having participated directly in the illegal
detention, torture and disappearance of its own workers under the military dictatorship of
Videla and the military junta that governed Argentina between 1976 and 1983. (19) The
criminal history of Ford is infinite . Also noteworthy is the case of the anti-union
dismissal of 58 delegates from the coordinating assembly in 1977 at the Almussafes plant
in Valencia, Spain. Also known was the case of dismissal against the companion secretary
general of the CNT at Ford, Alfredo Martinez, when opposing Toyotismo. (20) Another case
of Ford's bosses' terrorism was to leave 450 families of workers from Puerto de Santa
María in Cadiz in 2011 for relocation, despite the fact that the factory has made large
profits since 1990. (21)
Another funding body of Provea is CEJIL (22), a US parastatal organization, whose mission
is, according to its website: "to promote systematic changes at the state level and to
serve as jurisprudence for the region" (22). CEJIL is an official consultant to the OAS,
the Organization of American States, where the United States exercises and strengthens its
political, military and economic domination in the region. (23)
Other States that finance Provea are Australia, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway; Germany
through organizations such as Dienste in Übersee and Spain through the Catholic
organization Funderetica (24). Among the private financiers of Provea also stands the
chemical-pharmaceutical giant Merck (25), a company that speculates on the health of
millions of people, present in hundreds of countries.
Provea also receives direct EU funding, (26) State organization that has been strongly
questioned as an accomplice to the fascist coup in Ukraine in early 2014. (27)
In an article called "Autonomy for social movements," Rafael Uzcátegui, editor of El
Libertario and pro-active activist at Provea, defends "the creation of multiple spaces of
survival and resistance, autonomous and completely alien to the State and private
initiative" (28). can you speak of autonomy when you receive funding directly from the
upper bourgeoisie for your political activities?
El Libertario and the analytical manipulation of the February revolt in Venezuela
In a statement to the events from February to March 2014 in Venezuela, the collective
editor of El Libertario states: "Contrary to what has been said about riots only of
bourgeois and petty bourgeois, they have a transversal social content where there are
people of all conditions ". (29) On the face of it, it seems that El Libertario "forgets"
that bourgeois movements have historically been polyclassists. What better example than
the mother of all revolutions: the French Revolution, a movement where people from
different classes and strata participated In the coup and reactionary movement that
finally overthrew the social democratic government of Salvador Allende, there were also
people from different social classes, from mine workers, transporters to large capitalists
and landowners.
In the same report on the February revolt, the newspaper El Libertario states: "It is
important to insist that this collective insurrection has been and is basically
spontaneous." (30)
This is a tremendous sociopolitical manipulation. To assert that the February protests
were spontaneous is to try to give it a character of self-organization and anarchic colors
for a deeply authoritarian movement. A movement motivated mainly by reactionary slogans,
such as the "end of insecurity" (hard hand and arrest for delinquency), "Maduro Vete Ya"
and "SOS Venezuela", is clearly a philopascist authoritarian movement in search of
interventionism, at once, he could do nothing but change one president for another into
the Executive Power.
One can not speak of spontaneity when it was the great right-wing and ultra-right parties
that called for a revolt against the government to the cry of 'Maduro Vete YA'.
One can not speak of spontaneity when we witness how, through the bourgeois media of
communication, there is a whole work to stimulate the protests and the interventionism.
One can not speak of spontaneity when, for years, sectors of the Venezuelan bourgeoisie,
supported by governments of different latitudes and especially by the United States,
sought to overthrow Chavista governments in any way. One can not speak of spontaneity,
when the Venezuelan right repeats the same script that finally ended up overthrowing the
Social-Democrat government of Salvador Allende. One can not speak of spontaneity when, for
decades and decades, Latin American countries suffered fascist uprisings, with thousands
of dead, tortured and disappeared, led by the international bourgeoisie.
The parties called for the February protests (Popular Will, Primero Justicia) correspond
to the most reactionary right in Venezuela. They are the equivalent of the UDI in Chile or
the PP in Spain. The most rancid right in Venezuela.
El Libertario and the historical manipulation
The repression of the terrorist state must always be denounced and criticized, but to
equate the Caracazo of 1989, a popular, spontaneous and anti-capitalist movement against
the corrupt policies of the IMF, with the bourgeois and reactionary revolt that has
plagued sectors since February 12 in the region. manipulation and an insult to the
oppressed and exploited classes. What lived in Venezuela is not a 15M 2011, where the
"Spanish people" without a clear political speech was launched on the street to protest
against the political class in part and against other capitalism. Not a "Let them all go!
(Out all!) "That took to the streets in Argentina of 2001 against the blow of the
corralito. What Venezuela experienced in February 2014 was a movement led by ultra-right
parties whose main desire was to overthrow the government of bureaucrat Nicolás Maduro and
seize the state machine. That is, the February revolt was a statist, authoritarian and
bourgeois movement, with coup plot intentions and philofascist practices.
I insist that repression must always be denounced, but to add mediation to the
demonstrations that have been called by right-wing parties is an authoritarian and
bourgeois practice, a practice as or more authoritarian as supporting governments directly
or through the electoral mechanism.
As far as repressed students are concerned, there is no doubt that libertarians, wherever
they are, should sympathize with the repressed, but when left-wing or right-wing
governments repress students in Chile, it does not justify the hypothetically to the
protests of the right. In the same way, I do not imagine Andalusian, Basque, Catalan or
Galician anarchists, participating in the mobilizations of the PP or National Democracy.
Although it is not comparable, but given the discussion, even left-wing autonomous groups
like OPV and radicalized sectors of the MIR for the period of Popular Unity (UP) in Chile
(1970-1973), however critical they were from Allende, added to the protests of the
right-wing bourgeoisie that sought to create the necessary conditions for the coup against
the UP government.
The Libertarian and his False Critique of Marxism I
also find it important to communicate that El Libertario in certain documents apparently
criticizes the Marxist position of the Latin American Leninist tradition of "popular
power." However, he does not hesitate to publish through his digital website, the analyzes
and appeals of the PSL, Trotskyist party, that is, Marxist and statist. However,
Libertario and Provea organize activities together with the PSL, such as the Syndicate and
the Popular Meeting in Caracas (31), where they share a trench with the Revolutionary and
Autonomous Revolution, the arm of PSL's statist syndicalism. (32)
The Venezuelan libertarian as a voice of the bourgeoisie
The El Libertario newspaper, through its digital website, during the February protests and
until today, has been dedicated to publicizing different activities and advertisements of
Venezuelan law, such as "Human Chains" (33), "vigils" (34) and " Testimony: on the
protests in Maracaibo '(35). In this section you can fill pages and pages with similar
quotations. The manipulation of El Libertario's media is endless. Every day I check your
digital site, I find new entries - some are to my liking, I must say - in fact, El
Libertario's media manipulation tactic consists of interposing images, Bakunin phrases and
anarchist communiqués from important libertarian organizations with authoritarian
propaganda and class conciliation. This is how they deceive and generate sympathy in
different anarchist media. But it's a matter of revising your digital site a bit more to
make it clear that the liberal trend in El Libertario is prevalent.
It is also customary to read in the Libertarian communiqués of the neo-colonizing NGO
Amnesty International.
The trench of the editor of El Libertario, Rafael Uzcategui, is statist citizenship, his
analyzes are based on repeated quotations to human rights and to authoritarian miseries
like the constitution. In a column published on March 17, 2014, Rafael Uzcategui states
that "one must be firm in condemning acts of violence and having the force to reject any
non-constitutional mechanism" (36).
Do I need to explain why defending the constitution is not an anarchist practice? Since
when are the anarchists responsible for defending the constitutional order of states?
Conclusions
The newspaper El Libertario of Venezuela is the greatest exponent of right-wing
"anarchism" in Latin America, it is an informative that manipulates in a brazen way. Its
main function is to bring people who are sympathetic to anarchist ideas for liberal and
pro-citizenship positions and therefore functional for the state, capitalism and
class-divided society.
The newspaper El Libertario is a means directly financed by the international bourgeoisie
through the para-state organization Provea, that is, not only do they deviate from the
principles and purposes of anarchism at the communicational level, but also their specific
position on the social level is absolutely bourgeois and reactionary: private bureaucracy,
think tank, subsidization, parasitism, systemic hypocrisy, class reconciliation, and
theoretical and practical absurdities. In short, the newspaper El Libertario is a liberal
medium, representative of the bourgeoisie, functional to statism and the ruling class, are
therefore enemies of the oppressed and exploited classes.
Final considerations
The intention of this text is not to justify in any way the repression of the Venezuelan
terrorist state, nor is it a nod to the populist social democracy that governs Venezuela,
but it is a call to attention to the popular world and especially to people who work with
counter-information, anti-capitalist critique, autonomous organizations and anarchists,
student federations and anarcho-syndicalists to have at least a bit of prudence in dealing
with liberal-bourgeois analyzes and the panfletarismo of El Libertario of Venezuela.
Nor is the intention of the text to defend the tendencies that created identity with
Chavismo, nor with those parties and organizations that write poems for Chavez. It is true
that the Chavitas governments have won the sympathy of broad sectors of the left, also,
unfortunately, of small sectors that proclaim themselves as libertarians, it is not the
intention of this article to criticize these tendencies, but I will comment that those who
direct or indirectly support governments may have very good intentions, but they are not
anarchists. Personally, I do not consider the FARV an anarchist organization either. In
fact, I can agree with the people of El Libertario in the abstentionist campaigns they
held in contrast to the FARV, who campaigned to support Chavez's candidates for power.
However, anarchism is not merely abstentionism, one can be abstentionist and at the same
time a functional bourgeois for the interests of capitalism. It may be abstentionist and
at the same time authoritarian and despot.
Regardless of the public policies promoted by Chavista governments, it, like any other
government, continues to reproduce and strengthen the domination of capitalism, and like
any other state, Venezuelans use the violence of mercenaries and police forces against
society. It is the duty of all to denounce those who collaborate with governments, as well
as the task of all, to denounce the liberal tendencies that disguise themselves as anarchists.

For the sixth time in Prague, there were vegans and vegans, as well as those interested in
healthy and ethical meals, to meet at the Vegan feast held on Saturday, August 26th at the
Pankrác Central Park near Café Halfway. ---- The event started at two in the afternoon,
but there was a busy day at noon to build stalls where you could taste some of the vegan
goodies, but also get information materials, buy vegetarian Vegeth boots or xBastax themed
t-shirts. There were a lot of sweets in the meal, some raw, the Eternia people celebrating
success with vegan hot dogs, the queues were also on the side stand with curry and halouks
... You could drink all of this with coffee, melon smooth or original cocktails to support
the Anarchist Black cross. Something about the tooth was set up by the Salé infoshop team,
added distro to subversive prints, as well as a range of household washing gels and
softeners, and did not forget the swallowing of four-legged visitors that was not an
emergency. From the different groups were represented PICTURE - Animal defenders,
The program was complemented by a live library, a presentation of Vegan sports club
activities, discussions on Solidarity Networks, led by the Shared Houses Network or Vegan
Dining, where one of the anarchists in custody in the Fénix case shared their experiences.
There was also an improvised Distro Anarchist Federation.
The event could have visited several hundred people in the afternoon, including a large
number of children. It was smaller than in the previous year, but it did not hurt it in
the atmosphere underlined by the sunny weather. Just a nice afternoon when you can taste
new ones, meet friends or find new ones. The afternoon, which everyone likes to repeat.

Removal of social contributions, dismantling of the Labor Code, pension reform: the Macron
government is there to complete the destruction of the social rights conquered by the
workers. So let's learn the lessons of the past struggles and push for an extended general
strike to block the economy. ---- 40 years of austerity ---- Confronted with a weak growth
that does not exclude profits important for the employers, the governments of right and
left (except the interlude 1981/82) faithfully apply the program of the bourgeoisie:
austerity. It is the name given to the policies which aim to take from the workers the
social and trade union gains struck by the struggles since the Liberation. ---- This
necessarily unpopular policy has provoked the quasi-automatic right / left alternation,
voters putting their hopes in the promises of change. The repeated disappointment ends up
weakening the whole political system: rise of abstention, vote Le Pen ... the Fifth
Republic is a field of ruins. If the wealthiest have benefited from the period, they are
now worried that popular anger is no longer channeled into the ballot box. The most
enlightened strategists of the bourgeoisie then invented Macron. Neither right, nor left,
nor even the center: modern !
Macron, the joker of the bourgeoisie
Elected with the relative success that is known, Macron is mandated to contain social
explosions and complete the destruction of social gains. Indeed, if resistance, strike
days, and monsters were not enough to push back governments, they have also slowed down
the implementation of ultra-liberal policies. From this point of view, France is late, it
is a matter of finishing it ! The abolition of social contributions announces the death of
solidarity protections ; the decay of public education announces the victory of private
education from primary to university ; the destruction of the Labor Code and the right to
organize; the reform of pensions expected for January 2018 announces the worst ... And the
introduction of the measures of the state of emergency in the banal law announces the
aggravation of the repression against trade unionists, militant ecologists, solidarity
with the migrant -es
Macron is already collapsing in the polls and the promising new transparent policy becomes
the secret construction of prescriptions ! Never has the term "social re-entry" been so
true. Let's ensure the success of the meeting on August 30 against the Summer University
of Medef and the day of strike of September 12.
But let us learn the lessons of past struggles. The unions that are still fighting prepare
us for three days of mobilizations scattered in September. Better than nothing but
insufficient to win. Even if it means losing three days of salary, it is a three-day call
for a general strike that unions and employees must build. Three days of blocking the
economy, industrial zones and neighborhoods, high schools and faculties. Then we will be
in a better position to decide the consequences on the morning of the fourth day and to
increase the forces of the anti-capitalist rupture !

A demonstration against the labor law had ended in Poitiers by an action of solidarity
towards railway workers, then on strike: 400 to 600 people had occupied the railway lines
for more than an hour, without degradation. Then repression struck on 11 of them ...
anti-capitalist and / or libertarian sensitivity. ---- In 2016 there was a major
mobilization against labor law throughout France: for more than four months, hundreds of
thousands of people took to the streets and went on strike against the government's plan
to break the labor code. The freedom of demonstration was undermined by a very strong
repression - as the Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve himself acknowledged in a
communiqué of 19 June 2016, in which he mentioned 1,800 people arrested on this occasion.
(of which 100 were already tried and convicted immediately in three months). And as a
report by Amnesty International, which recorded 155 demonstrations banned in 18 months,
recalled that "manifesting is a right, not a threat".
In Poitiers, the inter-union CGT-FO-FSU-Solidaires-CNT-UNEF-SGL called on May 19 to a
demonstration to the station, and decided to carry out an action of occupation of the
railways in support of the railwaymen on strike at the national level. This action was
successfully carried out by 400 to 600 people for almost two hours, and it was carried out
to the end in a calm and without any degradation, according to the modalities decided by
the intersyndicale 86. Then the demonstration resumed its course to the forecourt of the
station, where it dispersed.
However, eleven persons designated as anti-capitalist and / or libertarian circles -
stigmatized by public authorities since the broken windows and graffiti made during an
anti-archaic demonstration, on 10 October 2009 in downtown Poitiers - were then summoned
to police station on 28 June, in connection with an investigation into "acts obstructing
the start-up or movement of a railway vehicle and others" following a complaint by the SNCF.
We, the eleven people summoned, denounce the political targeting that has been done there.
In the press, a few days after the demonstration on 19 May, the police pointed to the
presence of "ultra-left militants" in their ranks and declared that they were afraid of
their violence as well as that of "outside radical groups" - without power of course to
bring the slightest proof of his statements, especially concerning the violence ... and
for good reason: Poitiers knew none during the movement against the labor law. Moreover,
the membership of two of us in the trade union union Solidaires 86 shows that the public
authorities want to set an example by attacking militant trade unionists who are very
active in current and past struggles.
That is why we told the judicial police officer and the press: "Whether or not we go to
the police station in Poitiers on June 28th, we will not answer any questions posed by the
police, determined, united and mobilized against this law! "A gathering of 150 people, who
also said they were there on the roads on May 19th, took place on June 28 in front of the
police station in support of the eleven summoned, the three of us the convocation. But the
"case" did not stop there: the eight others were summoned again in the following months,
in turns arrested at their homes or work and then taken into custody. And now,
We are opposed today to the labor law 2 and the permanent state of emergency as we opposed
yesterday the labor law and the state of emergency.
We are protesting against the "selection" made by the police to exert revenge against some
anti-capitalist and / or libertarian militant Poitevins by continuing to harass them by
convocations to the police station and police custody until this grotesque trial.
More generally, we are not fooled by the maneuver of the rulers, who always seek to
distinguish everywhere, in France and elsewhere, good and bad demonstrators and we fight
against any penalization of social movements, any attempt to intimidate made against
people mobilized against the anti-social policy of the government, and the generalized
file that it seeks.
HALT TO THE CRIMINALIZATION OF SOCIAL MOVEMENTS AND REPRESSION IN POITIERS AS WELL!
We invite you to a first meeting to constitute a SUPPORT COMMITTEE on the basis of this text,
Monday September 4 at 6:30 pm,
at the House of Solidarity (22 rue du Pigeon-Blanc) in Poitiers.

Message: 7
From the Front of Organizations in Struggle we denounce that at this moment the police of
the city of Cordova has appeared in our central place of the district Muller with the
objective to make a search and seize flags, for which also they have taken our companions
for background investigation.[Note: There are at least four detainees, one of them, a
minor] ---- The raids also affect other libertarian organizations such as Casa Caracol of
the Federation of Grassroots Organizations (FOB), Casa 1234, Casa Anarquista, Espacio
Cultural San Martín. As well as the central place of the Workers' Party. ---- All these
groups participated last Monday in the massive mobilization against the Easy Trigger that
was called at the national level, so this police action makes clear the decision of the
government to advance in political persecution and intimidation towards those who struggle.
Images of the demonstration on Monday in Cordoba [Cadena 3]
All these measures are part of the repressive policy that is being promoted by the
government at the national level to hinder and prevent the mobilization of thousands of
people who will march tomorrow to demand the emergence of Santiago Maldonado. It should
also be noted that Cambiemos officials have recently admitted that they are carrying out
espionage tasks to social organizations.
We call for the solidarity of all social, political and grassroots organizations, and we
call for a concentration in the House of Cordova located in Callao between Corrientes and
Sarmiento at 5 pm to support the companions and demand:
Enough of political persecution of social organizations
Appearance with life of Santiago Maldonado
