Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc (Zanaco) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following job aimed at contributing to the Bank’s strategic vision, in the Human Resource & Training Division at Head Office:-

HEAD HR OPERATIONS COMPENSATION AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS

JOB PURPOSE

To develop the Bank’s Compensation and Benefits, IR and HR Operations strategies and ensure successful implementation of such strategies so as to ensure effective people management within the Bank.

Under the supervision of the Chief Human Resource & Training Officer, the following are among the job key responsibilities:-

Compensation and Benefits

To establish, operationalise and implement an effective and competitive compensation and benefits strategy that will drive a high performance culture.
To benchmark against local and international remuneration / pay incentive trends / best practices through participation in remuneration surveys and integrate into remuneration policies and practises where appropriate

HR Operations

To ensure the correct use of, and continual update of the HR information and payroll systems in order to provide management with accurate staff information for decision making
To develop and or coordinate the formulation of HR policies for the organisation
Industrial Relations

To ensure the effectiveness of the Grievance and Disciplinary process in order to uphold the highest standard of discipline in the Bank.
To communicate / address matters affecting employees both formally and informally and ensure effective delivery of agreed employment benefits and services as per binding contracts and awards
To advise the Bank’s senior management on the risks associated with employee relations and industrial relations
To supervise the implementation and management of all employee wellness programmes
To ensure adherence to the laws governing the Union/Management and to coordinate and manage union relations to ensure a healthy industrial environment, including but not limited to Joint Consultative meetings
To coordinate and manage the Bargaining process and ensure that all relevant documents pertaining to the relationship with the Union is updated and maintained
Cost Management

To manage annual budgets including all staff salaries and allowances, ensuring that all expenditure is accounted for and that costs are contained within budget parameters
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACT

External: Local Regulators on statutory matters, Unions, Vendors
Internal: All Divisions
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Grade 12 Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects.

University Degree in relevant subject

Minimum eight (8) years related work experience with 3-5 years at a senior management level

Must have a valid ZIHRM license/certificate

Demonstrated knowledge of local labour laws and HR Regulations and Compensation and Benefits practices

Strong employee relations background and experience

Detail oriented, highly organized, flexible with a positive attitude, team player.

Very good analytical and communication skills

Advanced excel proficiency
