We both remember hearing about the Trillium crashing into Captain John's while diners were enjoying dinner.

The winds have been very light so we have not done much sailing but there are so many islands that it is easy to do short hops to the next anchorage. Some of the anchorages require you to pick your way between exposed rocks to find your way into a secluded bay. It is a little unnerving however the water is surprisingly deep just feet from the rocks so squeezing in to the anchorages has not been an issue for Al, but still I had my eyes covered as we entered Fox Island anchorage.

| Picking our way through the rocks to our anchorage |
Al heard on the radio a boat name he was familiar with and decided to call and see if it was a couple who he knew from his days at Lagoon City Yacht Club. Sure enough it was and we ended up meeting up with Dave and Linda and some of the other cruisers they were travelling with.
In the past couple of weeks we have heard many boats announcing on the radio that they were going to be entering Little Detroit cut so we knew what to do when we got there. First listen to the radio to hear if anyone is coming through from the other direction, if they are wait until they come through, then use the radio to announce your intentions and slowly carve your way through. It was a nerve wracking few hundred foot cut with rocks on each side and no room for error; definitely only one boat can go through at a time.
