MATSIKORIDO NATURE TRAIL INAUGURATION - Pano Arodes Square - 19 November

SUNDAY 19 NOVEMBER 2017, 11:30 PANO ARODES SQUARE AKAMAS PROJECT MATSIKORIDO NATURE TRAIL  One of the ten activities of the Akamas Project and the infrastructure developed during the Capital of Culture for the future is the creation of a walking trail – the circular “Matsikorido” nature study trail in the Pano Arodes community, carried out in collaboration with the Forestry Department. The inauguration of the trail will take place at the community square, which is both the start and end point of the trail. Hikers will be able to choose between a small circular route of 6 km which goes through vineyards and the Narcissus tazetta natural habitat, and the longer, 10 km-route, which offers great views of the Akamas gorges and the coast. Along the trail, visitors will be able to observe the path’s flora, since the Forestry Department has placed signs indicating 25 important Cypriot plant species.
