Dear friends,
Every nation has its own cuisine and culture. It is part of what makes the world a beautiful place and why traveling is so exciting. But in a few cases, a nation's appetite for a certain food harms the rest of us. The planet's diversity is everyone's heritage and it's all of our responsibility to defend it when it is under threat.
Shark fins are considered a delicacy in many parts of Asia, and the region's insaciable craving has caused shark populations to sink. One of the main markets is Singapore which imports and exports more than $90 million of the cruel food.
The fish are being hunted around the globe. For the majority of those killed, their meat is not even consumed. Fisherman simply catch them, slice off their fins while they are still alive, and then toss them back into the sea to die a painful death.
Singapore is a small nation, but its hunger for shark fin is a big problem. We must protect these incredible fish because if we don't, we will soon have an ecological disaster on our hands.

Thank you for making a difference,
 Andrew M.
